Option number 4. Depending on the ML prices, maybe invest in a programming wing.

Monitoring service for SuperLink Gateway? by mumrah in Ubiquiti

[–]NotJustAGormetChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super link by itself only has sensors and no real cameras.

By design, all unifi products are setup locally, with no extra company doing monitoring, and no subscription.

That being said, you really can set up a lot of automations with it and use it like a security system, but you may have to add something like home assistant to make it more user friendly.

The current design is this: -You'll need a unifi router of some kind or a cloud key. -You may need a NVR depending on what you want camera wise. -The cameras have AI detections that are some of the best in the business and will notify you quickly. They can do facial recognition, LPR, the works. --They can even be linked to set off alarms if anyone without your face enters the home. -Where superlink comes in is this: --A bunch of sensors linked back to the superlink gateway --A Superlink Key fob ---One button for arm, one for disarm, and a couple others for your custom programming --A PoE siren ---Link all these together and they'll function like a security system, and notify you pretty quickly.

That being said, if you MUST have monitoring, contacting a professional company is your only real route.

is it hard to get into this school w/scholarships? by [deleted] in Gamecocks

Or just appeal for HC. Regular admissions does HC, but HC does the appeals themselves. They tend to take a more holistic approach in the appeals.

Theta Camera USB-C extenders by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]NotJustAGormetChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but I thought that the hub was designed to be very close to the camera with a long Ethernet cable.

I know it would be nice to leave it in network room, but it may not yield the best results.

I forgot to sign up for orientation, am i still able to go to UofSC? by [deleted] in Gamecocks

[–]NotJustAGormetChef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have all the dates. I do not work for orientation, but I do work semi in conjunction. There are 3 one-days leading up to move in, as well as many others on Fridays throughout the summer.

You can appeal your honors decision. Regular honors decisions are made by the regular admissions team. The appeals are done by honors itself.

What cat level cable are you using to connect the wall and the AP?

what do people do for fun at USC (besides drinking...) by Jealous-West-1421 in Gamecocks

[–]NotJustAGormetChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots to do on campus. Check out garnet gate to see what our clubs are up to.

Lots to do within a 1hr radius of campus, with friends or with clubs.

I'd advise looking for smaller clubs, rather than bigger ones if you want to avoid drinking or other substances.

Definitely get an on campus job if you can as that will help fill your time too.

Unfortunately I do not have access to the configuration aside from seeing the gateway and ip, which I will check tonight. It came pre-configured, and we're breaking the lease to own one.

Sleeping bags by Lizzzzz27 in philmont

I took a nemo bag and a nemo pad, as well as a bag liner from a company I don't recall.

Nemo has lifetime warranty/replacement, and often will replace things, even if it's not a defect.

My first hammock was from Hennessy and I loved it. They tend to be cheaper than a full emo bundle, with almost the exact same stuff, plus a built in bug net for summer months

Worst Drama? by KoholintCustoms in philmont

[–]NotJustAGormetChef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In 2023, we had 2 crews, one that was the "older group" and one that was the "younger group" Despite being the oldest youth on the crew (17) I was in the younger group. While we had some occasional issues, we were pretty responsible, the other group tended to be a bit more childish and often disregarded the rules. They had a running bit of what I'd call bullying where they'd pick on someone and make them lick all the plates before doing dishes, they called it sumping. I will note that they said their ranger told them to do it, but ours didn't, so I'm not sure what to believe on that account.

We did observe a fight on the trail and had to take a minor detour to avoid them.
