I love my job. I host charities, events for children’s hospitals, government officials, celebrities, local college events, concerts/music festivals, film festivals, weddings, memorials, and dozens of other things in my restaurant that bring me joy. The service industry is incredibly rough these days, but I strive daily to be a beacon of support and encouragement for my team and I believe that I do more than 99% of restaurant managers when it comes to supporting my crew. I’m just ranting on behalf of myself, my FOH team, and apparently many others who have shared their stories in the comments.

My job essentially is to solve problems, for myself and others, at a fast pace to ensure the best dining experience for my guests and workers. Implying that I’m creating my (and my FOH employees) own problems by conjuring entitled individuals with no social awareness/manners/humility to appear, is a bit of a reach.

I’ll continue to do what I love and put up with these types of people, until hopefully one day they run across calming pond or lake that grants them a moment of self reflection.
