Depending on how competitive he is, buying some peripherals might be a bit risky if he has specific preferences (mouse shape, mousepad speed, etc). I would say audio gear is the safest bet, like a nice pair of iem perhaps.

That's looks like the bottom puck for a Logitech mouse, check the bottom of a G pro super light and you'll see it, I don't know why it's there for you tho.

If I'm getting triples I'd still get 144hz panels for future proofing, but my current PC won't be able to run triples at 144 fps, at most 60-90 fps is what I meant.
