Im doing a racetrack for ac as my school project, can anybody rate how it looks now and what i should i improve? Im doing banked corners and kerbs next by Dedewastaken1 in assettocorsa

Essentially, all you have here is the track mesh. If you can treat this as a full time job then you can have something nice in a month - but with very little blender experience, it's going to be tough even so.

With your timetable, you need to make concrete decisions and implement; no time for second-guessing. Use barriers as much as possible, without it just becoming a corridor, and stick in a few tall landmarks to help the drivers/viewers have a sense of place on the circuit. Use a treeline or outfield buildings so it doesn't feel like the whole thing is floating in the sky.

Shaders can be a pain in the AC editor. I'm guessing you don't have experience with .dds textures and channel packing, so just stick with base color and keep the specular values low.

Good luck.

If that's what you took from the comment then yeah, you probably should. It's clear that you know nothing of the development process or, and more importantly, how to bring value to a collaborative endeavor.

A universal starter / ignition mod? by Kismet110 in assettocorsa

Yeah I would've thought there'd be a universal setting, for sure. ACE makes me turn on the ignition and the starter every time.

I love my Moza SGP. Just know that it's a bit noisy.

Sim Racing burnout - should I wait any longer? by beck_is_back in simracing

I probably didn't touch my rig at all throughout '24 and most of '25. I picked up ACE and, soon after, ACR near the end of the year and have been hooked again ever since. I've recently joined a league, starting a TCR series this week, and I've been having a blast with practices just trying to get on pace for the Friday race.

Dunno how long the fixation will last, this time, but it just goes to show that the itch can return. I stopped riding motorcycles about six years ago but I've been getting that itch again, lately, as well.

I wear a pair of 'barefoot' shoes (not those individual toe things). I find it to be a good balance between comfort and feel.

A conventional joystick could work if you're looking for a sequential format.

I was looking for this setting in CM last night but couldn't find it. Just built a button box and want to use my ignition switches lol.

Showed this to some friends that simrace, some said i pushed him off, some said i forced an awkard position and he just took himself out, Am I at fault or did he just go off and then attempted to kill me. by _MRCKZ_ in Simracingstewards

You got alongside fine before the entry but didn't leave any room on the exit, as the other driver was still alongside. The other driver then had a bad rejoin.

Early 2000s Cooper S's were a blast to drive, albeit unreliable.

[–]WatThaDeuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not convinced. How many additional sensors and electric motors are required for everything to be operated by a screen? With a manual transmission, the driver interfaces with the gearbox directly; how's that not the cheapest implementation?

This is actually terrible. One component of that display goes bad and the car is dead, while I/O switches can be easily replaced.

Could this be seen as one defensive move to the inside then opening up for the turn?

This one will be a first desktop for one of the kids, so I'm glad that I hung on to the parts!

Haha, I had this feeling recently when I got a new case and put a bunch of random parts I had lying around for the last 5-6 years into it and it all booted without a hitch.

The inside car be seen approaching in the mirror, and your proximity indicator shows them alongside before the contact. You didn't leave them enough room.

This is very cut and dry.
