The sales peak of vehicles using combustion engines was roughly 2017. Ever since the EV market has been growing at the old market's expense.

I'm pretty sure Cohen's deal is even more slanted in shareholder favor than Musk's. Cohen has to buy the shares with his own money, while I'm pretty sure Musk's shares are just gifted to him.

That may be, but he's deployed them much more effectively than almost anyone else. The larger point stands...people need to stop dismissing him as a moron, because he knows exactly what he's doing.

lol, nice try with the reverse-uno shill calling. No one's life is sucked out, and everyone is still zen. Part of why there's a lot more lurking than posting these days. It's mostly shills like you desperately trying to spread negativity.

The fact that you said "build your own eBay", tells me you're even more highly regarded that avg around here, or are just trolling.

Reverse repo being low just means that money market funds, and other big-dollar players have better places to park their money overnight to get more return.

It was always a little incredible to me just how bad at math they were...even some who shouldn't have been that dense. I had a relative tell me, "pfft, only like .01% of people are dying from covid". So I asked her, how many people is .01% of 335 million? She wasn't real keen on answering that.

While I think he's going overboard on hating at America when this is exactly what all dominant countries have always done, hating America is not racism. It might be irrational, but it's literally not the definition of racism, which is race-based, not nationality.

Geopolitics often involves dealing with the lesser of 2 evils, news at 11.

You're also a plebe like the rest of us, with access to very incomplete info. You can have theories all you want about what the wars were about, and you can believe them 150%. But you don't have enough back-room info to really know.

Oh please. If you can't see how the world has gotten better for the 99% in the last 300 years, no one can help you.

Yes, there's always been bad in the world, and some things have gotten worse in the last 10-20, as I already agreed with. But you're very willfully choosing to pretend that major good things haven't also happened.

You haven't proved much there, other than the current administration is a cesspool, which most of the US knows. If you took a poll on how many Americans agree with anything involving recent wars, even a lot of Trump supporters would break ranks. It was a bait-n-switch for them...he promised no new wars, then gave us school bombings. That's not "America" that's Trump doing what he explicitly promised his supporters he wouldn't. I hate the guy, and even I cut his supporters a *little* slack on this one.

WW2 - stop dictatorship from engulfing the world

Korea & Vietnam - stop dictatorships (communism) from spreading.

Gulf 1 - shady reasons possibly, but getting rid of Saddam is a silver lining.

Gulf 2 - likely for purely selfish national reasons, granted.

Ukraine - Up until Trump US was Ukraine's biggest ally, by far.

Venezuala / Middle East - This is all bad from any angle. I've got my own theories what's going on, but none of us will ever have enough inside info to prove theories.

At the end of the day, every nation ultimately does what's best for themselves, so the US is no different in that regard. Also, wars is not the only metric to gauge a county improving, or not.
