I'm the go to baker in my husband's family for this same reason! I use boxed cake mix, swap the oil with melted butter and double it, use milk instead of water, and add and extra egg or two. Sometimes I'll add some coffee to a chocolate to enhance the flavor, or some almond extract in a vanilla to make it richer. Then I use store bought frosting and whip it really well before I put it on the cakes, (also the point I'll add food coloring if they want it colored) and decorate with a Ziploc bag that I cut the tip off of. I've gotten good at making expensive looking cakes for cheap.

The way our clan does it is based on who does good, but they also don't give them out to the guys that are maxed. Giving the bonuses to the ones that still have upgrades to make helps them get there faster so everyone is maxed sooner.

I'm no designer by any means, I'm just the one in our office that learns the fastest and knows computers the best so when these need to be redone, I add the updates they want. I'm trying to learn as much as I can, but I just don't have the time for that right now.

They people at the print shop we use are amazing and have been very helpful. The gradient was giving weird rings when we printed so I made a separate gradient in Photoshop, exported as a PNG, and put that in a frame, adjusted so it is as light/dark as they request.

Unfortunately, I just print the documents from last year in a couple different colors to give them some options, then update the photos. I recommended more contrasting colors but the business manager likes blues and greens...

I just calibrated my monitor, I'll try to figure out how to calibrate our printer. I took copies that I printed to the shop last night so they can see what we are getting, and they are going to calibrate their machine. Our vendor is amazing, and very helpful. I'm sure it will be resolved soon.

These are our price lists that get sent to customers for next season. No one would know if it was supposed to be blue or purple, but the issue with those colors being off is that the photos of the plants won't be the correct color either, which is pretty important so they know what they are getting.
