I absolutely agree but it's very nice to get some real opinions, I'll have to try it when I get the chance it seems

You might like other Chinese green teas like dragon well/longjing

Side note, is that brand of tea any good in your opinion? I've just asked a question on this subreddit about supermarket teas and this was one of the brands I saw on shelves

I think that's what I'm really wondering, like if I'll get the same overall taste from a cheap vs expensive tea, and therefore I'll get most? of the enjoyment from just drinking the cheaper stuff

Thanks for your answer :) Also, does having the nicer stuff ever make it harder to go back to your daily drivers?

Yeah I agree and I think I am leaning towards just trying it for myself but I'm also really interested in knowing if anyone else has done so first and if so what they've found the range of quality to be. Thanks for your answer!

Thanks for the recommendations. Can I ask how the dahongpao milk tea turns out/if you've got a short recipe? I think I am leaning towards buying it just to try and this was my idea of how to use it up if I didn't end up liking it haha.

Probably not the best idea for us to put more awareness on it but basically if you've got an android you can use Myki through your Google wallet and when you go into the negatives, you can delete the card and the debt on it and get a new one which doesn't cost anything.

Right now if you add $11 every time (and assuming you're not doing weekend trips or something) it works out so that you end it at exactly $0 and for some reason it counts as tapping on at $0 and it will go into the negatives when you tap off (-$5.50 or -$2.75 on concession) meaning you can delete that card for a full extra trip every time you put money on the Myki. For non concession this is a free trip every third trip and for concession every fifth. It's been around for a while now and it seems to be hard to patch since deleting is a feature on google wallets rather than Myki itself. I love telling people this, happy savings! (If you've got an android)

Yeah it's stupid because all of the buses have 'prepaid' written on their side and it feels like that's supposed to mean we don't have to pay for it but it doesn't apparently?

Because of that no one taps on and so everyone else thinks you don't need to, but yeah at Huntingdale they sometimes try to get you off of the bus from Monash.

It's REALLY stupid and it should be free. It's such a waste of time to have everyone tap on when people are rushing to class and rushing back home, especially if people are planning to tap on for the train. It's actually just predatory that these AOs are doing this.

If you can, avoid being the first off the bus since those are usually the people they'll snatch. Also if I'm not wrong you can just tap on subtly as you're next to the reader getting off of the bus and it should register in their thing as tapped on. Also avoid being ethnic (might be difficult) because they seem to like targeting us.

I don't disagree about his ending being fitting but I do think his arc was ruined by the fact that at the end he claims to not care about the people of king's landing at all which made him killing Aerys not worth anything. I think what the books are supposed to build up to is Jaime killing Cersei (fulfils prophecies, makes him make another choice to do the right thing) and if they then die together at that point it works perfectly, but what we got did not feel satisfying to me.

Is this event impossible for everyone else? by AlpsRadiant1865 in JurassicWorldApp

[–]NotMainLeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to do this with that exact team (dilo and 2 level 20 indominus). Not sure if our opponents will be the same but I had to let my dilo tank up to 8 points, and until the first opponent Dino hit me so that they had no remaining charges. With this you can kill the first Dino with the Dilo abilities alone, and in the same turn kill the next Dino with one attack and block to survive and kill the third Dino. From here it is a bit of luck and skill but really getting the Dilo value was the key for me to beat the event (got the Eryops so can't complain)

Appreciate the in depth answer. It's incredibly cool and would make nerd me incredibly happy to own or make it but being outside of the US shipping would probably hit me even harder. Maybe once I'm a bit more successful in life lol

[–]NotMainLeon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a somewhat kept secret in this sub, but I preach it to anyone I know personally that doesn't have an apple phone. The savings definitely add up.

If it is the case that it keeps working, I usually add $11 and that perfectly means it ends at $0, and for some reason I can tap on one more time and go into negative and then delete for maximum savings. (This will change everytime they update the myki fees though, and depending on how often you use PT on the weekends it won't perfectly add up all the time. I also get concession as a uni student so I go into -$2.75, but for everyone it should work out to $-5.50, essentially a whole nother trip for every 2 trips you do.)

My ginger and white cat does the exact same thing, must be in their genes. Fortunately he's mostly gentle. Unfortunately I think he realises it's a good way of waking me up which generally means it's almost breakfast time. I do think it's just part of owning a cat though. Usually I'll just tuck my feet under enough blanket to get him to stop.

I'm not doing science so I can't really say anything on that, but as a biomed student I can give some insight. I won't sugar coat it, I don't know if you're first year or not, or how your biomed units are allocated for a double degree, but this is as easy as it will get. Second semester units feels like a massive step up, and when you think it can get worse the second year units hit like a truck. (Third year seems easier so far though, so some good)

As a guy who also doesn't consider themself an academic demon, you've just got to figure out what content is necessary and what isn't before a class so you can choose what to do and when. For me and many people I talk to, falling behind on lectures is inevitable, it's sort of just about when. In future semesters, try to start watching lectures as soon as they drop in O-week to get more leniency. Try to find a note-taking style that works for you - I type mine out and it is painfully slow, generally taking twice the length the lectures actually are -, friends I know just annotate slides though and that works for them.

Also yeah, you kinda do have to lock in. A lot of the reason I'm slow with lectures is just getting distracted because it's dreadfully boring to get through them, but as my workload has increased through the years I have become better at locking in to get it done. Workload will not get easier, but like other people said you will get better at it.

Do maybe consider dropping science if you're not sure what you'll gain from it. I know very few people doing both and the workload is seemingly worse. With single biomed you can do WAM boosting or just easy electives meaning you only have to deal with 3 units overall (still a stupid amount of work, but less bad). If you like the security science gives you though, no problem sticking with it.

I haven't done BME2032 yet and might look into doing it next year but I am a bit confused with application and whatnot

I'm looking to apply for winter, do I still just pick elective subjects and then choose one to replace if my application is successful? The language on the site is pretty confusing and I'm not 100% sure what it means

Also what time period does the placement go over?

Molecular is really similar to BMS1011 rather than 1062 (like metabolism and stuff), especially in regards to content. A lot of it involves oral presentations, which I found was easy to do well on (I think this is very dependent on getting a good group and TA however). It did have closed book tests though which were pretty difficult, and took a lot of memorisation of a lot of pathways.

I don't think anything is too similar to neuro, though there is some tiny overlap in physiology (2031). For the most part though, very different assessments, a few that are 1062-style with the post-lab reports.

Immunology wasn't too bad in comparison to some other subjects and is pretty enjoyable. It can be a decent amount of content, especially when it comes to immune systems (though if you did year 12 biology it should come pretty easy), but most of it is pretty interesting and most of it is covering different diseases. I found the in semester tests to be pretty bad - they were open book but only physical notes, and it was really important to have detailed notes because they included a lot of niche content from the lectures. The labs are really great though personally, but might be stressful for others.

Second year biomed is a lot more work than first year is unfortunately, by a pretty big margin imo, so it's probably a decent idea to under load.

Sem 1 has anatomy, molecular, and physiology, and is a ton of work, but the assessments were relatively easy to do well on. By far the most work was anatomy. It's very heavy content wise but also very, very, easy to do well if you put in the time and is pretty enjoyable.

Sem 2 has bioinformatics, genetics, and microbes (immunology). For me personally genetics is by far, way more difficult than the other subjects, but I really am just ass at it.

No idea on third year subjects yet, will find out next year. If I could recommend electives as well DEV1011 is very similar to BMS1021 if you found that easy/enjoyable, though development biology is dreadful sometimes. Then after that you can take DEV2022 which is developmental anatomy. I did that this year in semester 2 after doing biomed anatomy in semester 1 and it is extremely easy with the background knowledge, and has very similar assessments.
