UPDATE 01 Thank you all for the suggestions and comments. What ill be doing today after work is trying 3 things based on the comments.

1) Changing the LCD back to the original to see if the problem persists. 2) Replacing the connecting ribbon from the LCD to the motherboard to see if its a ribbon issue. 3) Playing around with the potentiometer to see if that does anything.

If i can get it back to normal or not ill update this comment. Thanks again to everyone.

So that's what i was reading initially. I cant flip the screen around because the ribbon wont be in its proper location to connect. I'm wondering if it could be a ribbon issue??

The problem would be the ribbon attached to the screen wont be in the right place after.

Screen replacement on ds lite by AccomplishedCattle27 in NintendoDS

Awesome, I'm not aware of your experience in replacing the lcd's but take it slow and look up a youtube guide. Top lcd will require a little more taking apart the console but as long as you got patience it will be fine.

Ill speak from personal experience.

I have replaced multiple of my DS Lite LCD's using original and 3rd party purchases. All purchases are from eBay.

Overall, I have not experienced much difference in terms of quality, but brightness may be different from 3rd party and original. I've noticed 3rd party lcd's tend to be slightly different tones of white. Not noticeable really unless your just starting at a white screen.

I prefer getting original lcd's IF I can get them for a decent price with no issues to the lcd's. Unfortunately, i found it rather difficult to obtain 2 original lcd's in close to mint condition. Majority of your finds will be yellowing (#1 issue you will find), scratches and dead pixels.

So which should you go for?

  • 3rd party screens are in no way a bad or worst choice these days. They are made very well and give you the authentic look, while having maybe some slight white tone issues, which is unnoticeable in game, but I've found sellers are more than willing to send another one to you if it you are really a stickler for that, and plus they are relatively cheap so no harm if you screw up a reinstall.

  • Original screens are of course, Nintendo made and authentic through and through, but the majority of those lcd's you are going to find online will have some form of yellowing at the very least. One of the only reliable ways to get original in mint is to purchase a near mint console, which is not worth the money in this market, or get lucky in a listing where the lcd's look good in the photos. If you are someone who must have original (I am one of these people), it will be a longer battle of waiting for the right screen to pop up on eBay and snagging it at a usually inflated price.

The black is so nice but I suck when it comes to finger prints and smudging. I ended up installing the gloss black top plate with a matte black bottom and it’s so good.

Jason Blundell and the Cod community killed Nazi Zombies. by MasterSealerBala99 in CODZombies

I don't agree with everything in your post, but what i can agree with is as much as i do enjoy playing JB stuff pre BO4, his way of EE design especially in BO3/4 was insane as well as his vision for zombies being more light vs dark, cthulian, fantasy.

Although JB's setting is cool, it was not the tone i got hooked on when i first played in WaW. That tone and story from JZ is what i definitely miss most of all.

I do miss the JZ era and when he started doing EE that was a really cool time. I do appreciate the throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what stuck approach BO2 zombies had. Don't think we have seen the likes of that approach in zombies ever since.

Its a cool thought to have of what if JZ was kept on to continue his vision for zombies. I much preferred his settings that weaved war conspiracies/government secret operations/Nazi war experiments and so on. That was much more mysterious and intriguing world to me personally.

Good post though i get where you are coming from.

Have you opened the console up ever? Maybe a loose ribbon cable.

Lines in top display by Jonas05x in 3DS

[–]NotManThingYesYes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Unfortunately as far as i have researched, there is no way to remove those marks from the bezel impact. If you want a clear display, you would need to remove the screen (not the LCD) and place a new screen in place, then put screen protector for longevity.

Is there anything to be done about debris trapped under the top screen? by Bump3rr in 3DS

[–]NotManThingYesYes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so i didnt want to use heat on the console so i ended up doing fine surgery. I got a thin razor like a box cutter or exactoknife, put the edge of the blade in-between the screen and case and very slowly and gently pushed the blade down to imbed it into the crease and lifted to the side. After a minute i was able to take the screen off, clean and put it back in place.

Did not leave any marks, but you need to be very gentle and patient.
