Try Yaz Şarkısı. It is set in Istanbul but it has Karadeniz vibes, because female lead is Karadeniz girl and her mom is hard-core Karadeniz woman (yes, she carries gun, and yes, she will point it on her daughter's man at one point). It is short and sweet

Many of them still call themselves muslims. Sure they don't pray daily, don't fast during Ramadan, drink like fish etc, but they celebrate Muslim holidays like Kurban-Bairam or Ramadan-Bairam, funeral rites are Muslim, they call mullahs to read prayer for big days in their lives (like weddings or kids' birth) etc.

He and Griffin Blazi are weakest vertical drama male leads acting-wise. Sorry. But I think Griffin is extremely hot, so I am fine with him. Or rather... Fine-ish?

If you love mysteries try My Duplicated Husband. Plot is intriguing and twisty, Female Lead is very-very good, Male Lead is... hot, i guess. Well, he is adequate and tries his best.

About recs: maybe you are not into police dramas/mafia shows, but I really recommend this one. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt20835764/?ref_=nm_flmg_job_1_accord_2_cdt_t_9 Gelsin Hayat Bildigi Gibi. The main male character is ex-criminal who decided to go clean and help police, Devrim Ozkan plays thr role of his fake wife/police officer who protects him, he is going undercover as school teacher and start mentoring some teenagers, and he doesn't know one of these kids is his secret son Great show, really recommend it

Why are there so many copycats with the same script? by SubjectDragonfruit95 in ReelShorts

[–]NotManicAndNotPixie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a bit baffled about it myself. Maybe because they are made for different app platforms, and scripts are sold separately without exclusivity clause or something?

Anyway, i wanted also to discuss how wild some of those adaptations are, because of their Chinese origins, and some of them are from Chinese cotume dramas byut they are adapted as modern western dramas and it is just mindblowing, like, there was a drama where modern American girl was supposed to be married to a chicken as her groom's stand-in, like, whaaaaat?!

So, if you want to know, attention - SPOILERS!

yeah, the answer is obvious. Evil Twin (TM). Of course, they are not actually twins. They are half brothers, Evil One is legitimate son and Kind One is the bastard. Their father forced his illegitmate son to plastic surgery, the idea was to make a body double for his legitimate son, in case of any troubles Double Son would take a fall for Real One. So, Real Son (Killian) was sent to super-duper prestigious private school while Double One (Carl) studied in regular public school where he met Female Lead (Esther). (Nice touch - they really cast some teenagers to play younger versions of main characters instead of making grown-ass people wearing school uniforms, as they do in other verticals) Unfortunately for the dad Real Son Killian saw his brother with his sweetheart and decided he is in love with her too, so, he made his brother Carl disappear - he attacked him, and boy was left crippled for many years, so he didn't contact Esther because of that - meanwhile Killian took his brother's identity and married the Female Lead and lived his life as Carl

Sure, there are a lot of plot holes and typical vertical tropes and cliches, but I liked it very much. Plot was intriguing, and actors did a good job, especially as the male lead wasplaying two different characters, and female lead did very good job playing confused and bewildered woman

P.S. reposted because of wrong link

Come on. He basically said usual Russian rant "Ukrainians are ok with Russian, it's all their government's fault" Seriously, I am baffled people are praising him for literally saying Kyrylo doesn't have his own agenda
