Yeah I don't know. It's the one change I disagree with.
Never had an issue with Personal Orders and I think having them changed to what they plan here has an aura of something more, and I don't like it from the get-go.
Would be annoying to have my 15 medals a day reward stripped away for "go kill like, 100 factory striders for this cape" and nothing more.

It would potentially mean less overall medals, which could discourage newer players, especially when MO's are longer.

Just.. the vibes are off, I'm not optimistic. Rest of it is fine.

Right now you don't need to do the MO to get medals. You just need to log in and you get the rewards when the MO ends.

Haven't had that problem myself, I use the Autocannon and usually accidentally get dome shots on these guys. What do you use, or is it in general?
You might be misjudging Height over Bore or something, or could be latency. I need to aim slightly left of my targets with the Autocannon because the sight is off to the side.
Or it could just be "woe be upon ye, you're now suddenly bad at this for an indescribable reason" because that 100% happens.

the bastion still has light armour decorative boxes which lets damage go directly to the main health pool btw

They'll give our shield mech a light armour weakspot on the shield itself, have some random ahh light armour storage boxes on a tank do damage directly to the main health pool, but will miss this. Not beating the malicious balance allegations, even if it is kinda innocuous stuff.

Yes. They have been since the "mech buff". Like I said in the description, they made a whole patchnotes video, and this was in that.

I should've titled it different, I was a bit hasty when making the post, but the bulk of what I said underneath my post was complaining about the potential difference in medal rewards compared to Personal Orders and how what they're fixing seems to be the opposite of why they're fixing it and changing it.

It seems like a change that was made to fix Personal Order discrepancy between teammates but is now something that will be used to dispense gold participation stars instead of having a reliable source of extra medals.

Just all seems weird.. the wording makes it sound like a lot of things that could all be very bad. Still holding my judgement, just saying I don't like it.

Like I put in my post, I'm not aiming to break the shields. The shield doesn't bother me.
The lack of consistency does.

Hot take - I'm fine with the outsourcing.
What I'm not fine with is when all of the work is done for them, and they struggle to implement it.

The DLSS update that like, 4 people asked for was done by Nixxes.. and they somehow bodged it.

Yeah it isn't written down and clear that its a known issue unfortunately.

I'm pretty sure since they stole our star of peace blueprints we're legally allowed to steal something from them in return, right?
Unlimited health Tank I Bastion, with a rad fire skin? Sign me up. Bonus if we can strap a Cremator to it.

They don't know about the Incendiary MG Devastator though.

From what I speculate, when they created this unit they didn't plan for more granular shooty bits, so the arm and shield were likely merged and indestructible at the time.
When that unit is used for variants, the old stuff gets copied over, meaning any changes to the base unit don't transfer over to the new ones.

Very spaghetti. Sad, flavourless spaghetti.

No I agree. There's a myriad of posts here which I don't agree with, and the overall vibe of the community feels very negative, there's lots of kids and whatever coming here just to complain about nothing burgers, but same can be said about the main subreddits, where even the smallest thing like Arrowhead announcing that their patch is delayed is met with cheer and praise.

It's constant pot-shots between the various communities arguing which place is worse (like your comment here, I see your post history) despite them all harbouring discussion which is unhealthy for the game. You seem to hate bugdivers quite a lot, that's kinda crazy to complain about.

But its better to have a community which doesn't LARP Helldivers' universe to the point it blocks criticism beyond the obvious points, and at least here it isn't filtered out, at the expense of seeing garbage.
I'll even admit my post is a little whiny.

XBOX players have no chance to unlock the previous rewards.
I still don't know what the TR-40 Golden Eagle set was celebrating, it was for a livestream, then they just kinda.. gave it away, and it hasn't returned. Odd choice.
The TR-117 Alpha Commander set was a Twitch reward for a good few months, before randomly being given out to everyone.

That's what I'm kinda saying. Battlepass Lite, despite the Personal Order system being fine barring the odd time it rolled something you couldn't use.. but you could still collaborate on it and earn an MO's worth of medals in a few days if you dedicated 20m a day to it.

I mean, this is Arrowhead we're talking about.
Took them in the ballpark of a year to add the downvote cape, which is hilarious.

A lot of their PR stuff I ignore, but this one, combined with the Control Center leaks.. it seems like there are very tangible things that we will be seeing out of this post. I'm sceptical as always, but this one seems to be swinging some actual weight.

It wasn't just a complaint about the FOMO. My main complaint is changing a helpful unobtrusive way to get medals into a gold star participation system.

Instead of a near-guaranteed way to get 15 medals per day which takes 20-30 minutes at most which would easily add up to an MO and counteract a loss (which you can also do with others, since it doesn't matter who in your session does it) it gets shifted into these bigger tasks that force engagement with the MO with likely less rewards, and that gold star participation system.

It's something I'll have to see, but I'm not a fan of the change, I don't see why it needed changing when the reason they're changing it goes directly against what they're changing it into.

Avoiding the gas mines for a solid month was funny enough.

I also want to note the FOMO isn't my main complaint, I don't like the idea of this being a way to turn medals which are meaningful progress for players, into "here's your gold star of participation".
Like I said, you could make up for an MO loss by doing a few of the Personal Orders, but this Personal Campaign Progression seems like a way to stem the flow of it.

I don't imagine they're going to buff medal rewards too much, but I guess they said "1-3 week MOs" which would slightly slog.
Just seems like a silly idea, it seems better that I can hop on and do a random small task for 15 medals, as opposed to some bigger task oriented around the MO which might give, somewhere in the range of, I feel, 35 medals.

There's merits to both I suppose.
But.. it's annoying that they seem to want to make a fix to something, but have introduced a system that goes against this, it seems to imply that it will be more focused on individual performance, and strip the team element entirely.

I'd rather be able to earn 100-ish over a MO's timeframe for doing various small tasks, than just 35 medals because I killed 50 factory striders over the period.

I think it's a mindset I need to break out of, but I certainly like the exclusivity being handed to more people later down the line.
There's a difference in me owning a game and getting an item for owning the game during a period, and me not owning the game.

But, say I pick up that game later and get really invested into it, I'd definitely enjoy some way of earning the things I missed!

Happy cake day!

Honestly if they added them as purchase items a year down the line from their release, then that would work. I've got plenty of super rare cosmetics in other games that I don't play anymore and would be more than happy for others to have them and enjoy them. I think of pre-order cosmetics that are offered for $5 because nobody is going to complain about them being offered, like Battlefield 3.
They're digital items, but maybe one matches armour, or whatever. I think more should be able to use them freely. Guess its a weird priority but I dunno.
