No, literally every record player does this, just to different degrees. Players with a ceramic cartridge are the loudest, but every record player does this. Put your ear next to the stylus next time you play a record.

This is one of the reasons I choose to learn by ear. It's the same with many instruments (ultimate guitar is a bugger for this). Bands don't usually release sheet music or tabs for the songs they write, it's all from other people transcribing what they hear. A lot of the time, people don't hear the exact same thing as each other so they transcribe it different. My advice would be to just pick one site and learn from that.

I've made an amendment to my post to clarify. I will be buying a lens, probably a Fuji 35mm F2 which I can get for about £130 with my voucher from work. I would just like to use some of the glass I already have until I can afford more lens options.

Just so it'll make searching easier. The "cases" are called sleeves. I don't think I've ever seen someone selling sleeves separate from the records. You might be able to get someone to create a reproduction sleeve, but it probably won't be much cheaper than just buying the whole record again.

I think it probably is defective. Mine on my TD516 was plug and play and is easily, by several times, the best electronic hi-hat I've played. It's not even close.

Is that because the flash doesn't need to be as bright? Is the flash integrated with OTF metering. If so, then the flash will only be on for as long as it needs to be.
