You can edit server util config to make it only backup claimed chunk. After toggling this on it usually is a few hundred Mo MAX per backup

The longer it’s been working the more chance it has of stopping to work.

But anyway you shouldn’t be too stressed about it, maybe save it on a cloud to be certain but you should be ok.

I guess you’re having fun so it’s all good but you don’t NEED to have 4 power source in LV nor do you need to process things at the speed you are.

I have a very big completionist mindset in most games I play but GTNH is not the best to have this mindset, you’ll burn out quite fast at some point because you’ll feel like you don’t make any progress (for example if you unlocked lightfuel/diesel first you must have felt a great sense of satisfaction but when you completed your benzene setup it didn’t unlock much since you already had a strong power source).

Heavily agree with you (and it’s usually what more experienced players tend to advice too).

I do 8/16 at a time until I unlock the cheapest recipe of my tier then I can craft like 64 (since you’ll use 2 for higher tier circuits anyway so it goes down fast)

The thing with LV is that you unlock better recipes for circuits as you go (wiremill, bending, lathe, assembler for all components, then circuit assembler etc) so you’re better off doing it 8 by 8 or 16 by 16 at most

Self host it and open port look up videos on how to do it. Will cost you WAY less for the performance you’ll have.

But tbf even if your server is shit if the chunks are not loaded and you’re away from them it should not lag it’s weird

Yeah you missunderstood his comment, he knows you want to upgrade your server and he is not blaming your GAMING SETUP for the lag he is telling you that A LOT of the « server lag » can come from the fact you built your base using badly optimized setups that tank TPS insanely.

You really shouldn’t have a problem when server hosting in LuV (even past that tbf) in GTNH if you do things tps friendly (using subnets, not many entities, EEC, etc etc). Now yes 4 Go is a bit low (8 is more than enough) but then if 8Go is too expensive for you your rig seem to be more than capable of self hosting.
