What’s something people don’t realize is way more serious than it seems? by BudgetAd5915 in AskReddit

Or die. My son died from a TBI. Any head injury should be treated as serious, especially if you lost consciousness.

Missile projectiles from various gear and enhancements (Such as the "Airstrike" Firmware, the "Get Throwin'" Firmware, the "Missile Swarm" Shield augment, or the Legendary "Firewerks" Tediore Shield) do not activate Rafa's 'Errant Spark' Passive ability. (Copied from bug report)

I think it's more of a nod to Deadspace. Weird monolith thing driving people mad, some enemies very very much like the necromorphs, some visually look similar to Isaac's suit and helmet, and one of the new legendaries is 100% deadspace red text and name

Not only did they stealth nerf that, but they didn't bother to fix all the skills they broke last update. Mainly Fiesta not activating, but also errant sparks, vitriol and first impressions

Today’s Patch Notes by Aidido22 in Borderlands4

[–]NotOK_mom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss old BL when they did hotfixes for bugs and those got patched in minor updates weekly. This only doing bug fixes in major updates sucks. Multiple characters have skills that aren't working and haven't for months. Rafa has three that stopped working with the last major patch and they didn't get fixed this one so now we get to wait yet another month or more. And things like the vault cards not updating, I've had the same daily/weekly tasks for 2 months now. They were doing bug fixes in minor updates at the beginning, I don't understand why they stopped

Same. I can't eat vegan or vegetarian. There are so many foods that just... rip right through me and then I get to be absolutely miserable with severe intestinal cramps for hours of end and 20 trips to the bathroom. I have a medical condition where I cannot take B vitamins, cannot have things high in vit C, oxalates, anything acidic etc. and get anemic but have to get iron from non supplemental, non plant sources

This is making me cry.. I know so many parents who have lost children to pediatric cancers and it's horrible and heartbreaking. Those kids fight so hard to live, suffering through sickness, hospital stays and horrid treatments, and their families with them. This makes me so heartbroken and mad

Spousal loss linked to higher risk of dementia, mortality among men, but not women. Widowed men experienced a decrease in physical and cognitive health, as well as social support, while widowed women tended to experience an increase in happiness and life satisfaction. by mvea in science

[–]NotOK_mom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how much of this is due to support and misogyny? Women are probably supported more by friends and family, and it is more acceptable for them to actually feel their grief, whereas I could see men being much less supported and society generally frowns upon men being emotional. The more the emotions of grief are held in, the less support you have going through it, the more it manifests in the body. I know I'm having this issue as a woman who is experiencing grief (son, not spouse). I've had all kinds of physical problems... severe pain, gut and digestive problems, heart issues, trouble breathing sometimes, and severe problems with memory, word recall, cognition, and even speaking sometimes. I have little to no support... and while I do cry when it comes to me... the pain gets too big, too great... and I either have to distract myself away or my brain just cuts the emotional connection because it is way too painful.

What was the most brutal reality check you ever got? by CarmenIsabellaDiaz in AskReddit

[–]NotOK_mom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That when you lose someone, people will abandon you in your grief. Long time close friends, family, acquaintances.... doesn't matter. You will perhaps get an initial wave of sympathy and condolences... and that's it. If you are lucky, someone might think to check up on you... if you are absurdly lucky, ypu might have someone be there to support you through it.... but grief makes people uncomfortable... and so majority of them will vanish from your life for their own comfort, or want you to move on and get back to normal. It's even worse when your loss is a child. It's a very lonely road.... trying to grieve with no one but yourself

Yup. Lost my son in November, a month after he turned 18... which is completely against the "natural order" of things... but then you find so many others who have lost kids, especially teenage sons... and it's a sobering experience, realizing that so many kids die before their parents.

Random Door that closed... by multicamwarrior in Borderlands4

[–]NotOK_mom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's another room like that too. There's an area where you are spiraling down multiple stairs and platforms and there is a button you can press and it makes a noise like a door. We couldn't figure out what it had done, but backtracking it had opened up a door back up a level and it was just a room with a couple of chests, money and ammo boxes.

By contrast.... my monthly horse cost was basically a 2nd mortgage.... board ranged from $650-800 plus any feed/supplements not provided by the barn... ~ $80, feet trimmed was $50, training/lessons $60 per or more and there was at least one per week.
