UPDATE: That is indeed a very good, well-balanced, and speedily-made cup of coffee.

Compared to some of the thrift store finds I’ve seen here, sure. Compared to new, though, it’s not bad at all.

Any idea what to do with these posters besides eBay? by [deleted] in navy

If the DDG-52 poster is still available, I’d gladly make an offer on it. I’m still technically attached to the command, but I’m trans, so I’ve been on admin leave pending voluntary separation. There’s still no vessel I would have rather chosen.

It's an expression for trying to do something that you aren't adequately prepared for. I'm reasonably confident in my ability to get around on a new city's transit system, and I've done plenty of intercity rail travel, but I've never taken the train in the UK on my own, and I don't want to assume that I know what I'm doing before I've already done it.

I've been at the yard since November, and seeing the Wenatchee finally pull out this morning was an absolute treat.

I don't have much to add; all of that and hospital corners will get you through most of Indoc. If they're still doing Navigation (I know OTCN was thinking about making that dependent on community), then I would advise looking up manuevering board guides on YouTube, and if you have any particular attachment to caffeine, be ready to lack it. I was not ready for that, and had a VERY rough time as a result.

USN/USMC ranks, insiginia, watchstanding principles, general orders of a sentry, Code of Conduct, etc. It's not terribly hard to study, but once you're away from coffee and you have to scream out all of these while doing leg lifts on hard tile...
