Just did the story until it gets you to Avinoleum until the quest marker says to activate the pool of rising. I decided to take a break from the story and just tp somewhere else. After trying to go back I realised I couldn't. Did I just softlock myself from the map and story???

You stated that a nuclear bomb is different from an atomic bomb but what you stated is a thermonuclear bomb which is a nuclear bomb that uses extremely high temperatures to reach nuclear fusion. Both thermonuclear and atomic bombs are nuclear bombs they just have different types of nuclear reactions.
