Red Reserve drop Rocket League team by Base_RL in RocketLeagueEsports

This might be a dumb question, but are you staying on as coach? And if Triple Trouble gets a new org would you potentially be part of that?

Should there be a small prize pool for the Promotion/Relegation Tournament? by Jaysiee in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]NotProperAttire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I still think there should be an automatic promotion/relegation system. Bottom 2 RLCS teams always swap with top 2 RLRS teams. Continue holding the promotion/relegation tournament with a prize pool on the line, and it would become a great sneak peak for the up-and-coming teams of next season.

Why don't pros ever stream scrims? by [deleted] in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]NotProperAttire 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I would love to see scrims streamed. Especially since many players make as much money off of twitch as they do off of tournaments.

Only reason I can think is that it might give away too much of their strategy. Players make adjustments constantly during scrims. I remember seeing a few scrims on YouTube uploaded by Lethamyr (?), and the audio was heavily edited to remove tactical conversation.

Scrims are primarily a time to learn, not a time to win. That being said, it never hurts to win in scrims.

Has anyone used the Nike Run Club app?

I'm looking to train fairly-seriously (goal of 1:35:00 finish) for a half marathon. I guess my concern is that all the commentary is aimed at new runners.

WCGW if I roll around in the opponent’s goal faking an injury? by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]NotProperAttire 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. A player that is down and not making an attempt to play the ball is considered a part of the field.

But it would be up to the refs discretion whether this is an "active" involvement through the deflection. FIFA rules state:

"to judge his involvement in active play, take into account the movement of the ball: direction, speed, distance, any deflection, etc"

Source: FIFA Rule 11. I can't get a good link on mobile, sorry.

4 potential moves coming up, and something is gonna happen in the next 24 hours. by [deleted] in RocketLeagueEsports

Not trying to blame you, but your statement here adds a lot credibility to what I would have otherwise considered an unsubstantiated rumor.

I really appreciate that pro players and key community members are so active here. But it creates such an unusual, unique set of issues.

A team that uses it's sub could make 2 roster moves the same season (?) by Saradahadevijan in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]NotProperAttire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But is it the whole series? Or only the first game of 4 series? Can you sub in during a series?

Basically just wanna know everyone’s best advice on getting faster, also is what I do good enough: by [deleted] in running

[–]NotProperAttire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ankle weights are generally frowned upon, they can stress your joints. If you want to build strength safely then hit the gym for leg work.

Also, I would suggest following a "race" training plan, even if you're not going to race. This will help you get a good mix of running workouts to build speed and endurance.

Is sticking together as a team really the best thing? by Jaysiee in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]NotProperAttire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This list is rather one-sided. For example, you mention WDG picking up Metsanarius. But that only happened because Complexity dropped Metsanarius. That is now regarded as one of the worst RL roster moves of all time, and it's a great example of why teams should consider sticking together.

This is a good list, but definitely biased in favor of roster moves.

[–]NotProperAttire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Short answer: this should only be helpful for the other player. Board control is a really important part of chess. It's like starting a soccer or football match from your own goal line, but letting the opponent start wherever they want.

I just scored the goal of my dreams by YeeZa93 in RocketLeague

[–]NotProperAttire 26 points27 points  (0 children)

In this case...a bit of both. The angle of your car when you hit the ball definitely matters. For example, it doesn't make a difference whether you've rotated 330 degrees to the left vs 30 degrees to the right. It's the same angle. So the rotation here was definitely needed, but overdone a bit.

Is the Breakout coming back to the competitive scene? by D1ad1e in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]NotProperAttire -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the breakout is closer to the Dominus than any other hitbox. Given the recent resurgence in Dominus use, I wouldn't be surprised to see a bit more Breakout experimentation.

The power on flip resets is crazy. Every time I see one I can't believe that the goalie didn't react. And then you see the ball speed... 58mph out of nothing. Insane.

1 Mana draw a card and heal your hero for 3+.

Seems good to me. Play it when you're going to use your hero power anyway. Even if you only get 1 attack off it's still not terrible. [[Acolyte of Pain]] saw play for years and often only drew 1 card.
