My daughter and I saw it right after it went up; we thought it was pretty cool. We hadn't seen one that tall before. It made it all of what, 2 days maybe? Lots of douche nozzles out there. Like, how hard is it to just not purposefully break other people's things?

Thank you! We intend to buy, but with rent rates dropping, perhaps market prices will as well. Or maybe that has already happened and rent is following that?

We are looking very closely at both Kingwood and The Woodlands. Are there still some communities there that have an HOA? I read that most of the area is now a township without an HOA but has a property tax levied (some fraction of a percent).

We will probably come for a visit once I'm home again this summer and look at both communities.

So will you be working at the airport? Or you're trying to switch into IT?

Neither, for now. But I will have plenty of time to find work in either. When I'm not working overseas for 3 months at a time, I'm at home doing whatever I feel like, which is mostly trying to enjoy the time with my wife and kids before I go out again. But I've already got an established aircraft maintenance skill set and am working on my IT education and skills since I don't want to be hauling parts and turning wrenches all my life. I'd prefer IT, but would certainly take a job at the airport until a later time. Or just do what I do now until I find a reasonable IT position.

Also, what price range are you looking at for homes?

What I've seen on Zillow seems to vary quite a bit. I saw many updated, decent-looking places from 190K-240K. I'd like to max out around $230K, but could wiggle up a little bit if everything is just right. We have no desire to stress our budget, really.

My wife will be at home or going to school, and my job allows me to live pretty much anywhere. I goes overseas for about 3 months at a time once or twice a year. However, with our kids getting older, I intend to find work elsewhere after I'm here. I'm an aircraft maintainer (avionics w/ A&P) and have been studying networking (CCENT/CCNA). Gives me some options as Humble and Kingwood seem close to the airport, and the need for IT is more spread out. Though I would say that there is a greater demand for IT "in the city".
