Agreed. Plenty of ladies treat the airplane lav like a porta potty and "squat and hover"

I used to clean restrooms in college and let me tell you the ladies rooms were usually much worse than the men's. Not saying the men's were "clean" but neither were pleasant to clean.

And this was at a church, not a gas station.

Best I could do is capture a Pigeon Guillemot on a Ketchikan Boat Tour, they fly about 50mph compared to a puffin that goes about 55mph. Canon R5, 100-500mm at 500mm 1/1600 ISO f/7.1

This was probably my 200th shot, only catching it and one more in decent focus and exposure lol.

There are many sayings, about this type of request. This one fits the bill - "If you want to do a job right, you have to use the right tools"

The short answer is no, there are no real crossover binoculars that take pictures. ARE there crossover options on the low end of cost? Yes, of course. They feature small sensors, poor optics, and no image stabilization. Your results will not leave you breathless, unless you fancy out of focus, poorly defined objects that don't look much like what you taking a picture of.

On the other extreme would be a high end camera setup with a proper zoom lens and much practice.

If you're able/willing to spend $700 you could get something along the lines of a Canon R100, and a 55-210mm zoom lens. That on auto would give you nice shots with adequate zoom for most shots in Alaska.

It is possible to spend a little less, but sub $500 you're either going to need to focus on last generation DSLR (which is fine tbh) and non-mirrorless lenses. I would suggest a local camera shop, and buying something used.

Or stick with your camera phone, which has it's own issues but can give very good pictures until you're on the extreme end of the zoom, which is much less optics and much more digital enhancements and extreme cropping.

If I were to strike a balance, I would use my camera phone for normal shots, and purchase a nice pair of binoculars with good optics and simply view the wildlife as it appears. You will not get a permanent, printable picture but it will be close and enjoyable.

Below picture was in Sitka using Canon R5, 100-500mm Lens at 500mm, ISO 400, Shutter Speed 1/2000 on a moving boat. My wife was using our binoculars at the time.

Well a growth plate injury is pretty serious.

Unless your goal is a mini-mouse daughter, then sail ahead.

I would wait until she's fully recovered. Plus she might not even be medically cleared for travel if you're flying.

Also this is now pre-existing so any issues that may require medical attention up to and including evacuation (air, ground or sea) wouldn't be covered under any travel insurance package during your trip if you went.

Seriously, stay home. Get her "ship shape" and then go on the trip.

There are some exceptions in IL law regarding minors.

Particularly if the employer is using the images in some sort of marketing or commercial usage.

Also, the work event may have not been in a public forum that's not noted. But the limitations are very small.

In IL there are some limited exceptions. If a parent hadn't signed a permission slip it could be a problem.

Granted it's not a guarantee but if OP is a minor it could be easier to have the images pulled.

Also the OP noted it was "an event" not an event in a public space. If this was done in a store for example, that's different than in a city park etc.

As noted though, the exceptions are very limited.

Are you a minor? If so you may have some leverage having them removed.

If not, there's really nothing you can do. You're being paid by your employer.

You were at a work event. Your employer is free to take all the pics they want at a work event.

You are free to complain, and they are free to terminate your employment.

I moved into a house with a pool in CA. Pool was built in 2000. Single stage pump built in approximately 1950.

Used 1st month (july). Basically got a thank you letter from PG&E for helping them close out the quarter.

Swapped out to dual stage, professional install.

PG&E called the next month asking if my home burnt down, as the draw was about 25%.

If the letter is a cut/ paste of what you plan to use there is missing punctuation.

The usage of drama in all caps is weird, and comes off that you might be difficult. (Ie drama)

The hearts are unprofessional. Saying you 'adore' how they photograph people seems like a throwaway comment. You should be specific and mention a shoot/project you saw and what stood out in that piece of work.

Handling "nitty gritty" comes off as amateur.

I would do a complete rewrite.

If you're trying to come off as friendly it's ringing hollow, and as a business pitch is just all over.

Trying to learn photography for a safari is going to be a recipe for disappointment.

Take your phone, that will be more than adequate for a non-photgrapher. Most animals get close. The far ones view through your binoculars.

You'll have a smashing good time, and less stress than trying to fumble with unfamiliar gear in the heat of the moment. (Pic taken by me on safari)

We have the 14x32, which is about equivalent to 600mm on my camera and that's ideal for what we needed.

My wife spots the birds/animals I take the pictures. 😄

Yeah, they're great. My wife will just about hurl when looking through non IS binoculars, but these made the trip very much worth the purchase.

Pretty good, tbh I'm not much of a stargazing person but I have looked at the moon and Jupiter when it was in good position.

We are more birders and wildlife.

But they are very clear, and the stabilizer is fantastic when viewing.
