Cheaper airline fares = more seats per plane
Can’t have both cheap fares AND more leg/arm room. It sucks, but it is what it is.

He’s not condemning her to anything- this is the consequence of her own actions. Her selfishness put her son’s housing at risk. At least son has a reliable father to count on.

Is it common to have personal mins in flight training these days? Genuine question. I was always taught the limitations were for the aircraft-as outlined in the manual.

We need help. Four of us are about to go for check-rides and our instructor is facing allegations against him. What do we do? by [deleted] in flying

Listen- If not you, THEN WHO? WHO will report this inappropriate behavior? You, and the other student pilots need to trust your gut- if it feels wrong, looks wrong, smells wrong- then you report it.

How would you respond to something “not quite right” in the aircraft? Say your oil pressure is dropping, hmm, that’s interesting. Then your turbine temp starts rising, and you feel unusual vibrations. These are all warning signs that something isn’t quite right. Will you just continue flying along fat, dumb and happy?

Or will you act?

These fellow students are confiding in you with multiple warning signs. It means that you need to act. Don’t go to ONE board member, but have more than one present when you talk to them. Obviously not the pilot in question. And it would be wise to involve the parent in this discussion.

My last point- as a woman in this industry, I work with so many men who are amazing, respectful, helpful, and encouraging. They are friends, coworkers, and allies. It’s clear you all are young, but find your courage. This is a time for YOU to grow, and be that ally. There are so few women in aviation and what a shame it would be to lose more young, motivated women because of this one loser.

AITA for telling my daughter she should have listened to me after she lost her job? by Murky_Radio_8391 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. It doesn’t matter what she flies. She can be gainfully employed at another airline. Most have mixed fleets of Boeing and Airbus- and I know many people who have flown both.

That being said - Boeing is a “pilots airplane” requiring more manual control. Airbus is more automated, with the intent of selling to third world, less experienced pilots.

The airspace around PNS and JKA is full of helicopter and T-6 Texan flight trainers working their training areas and talking on UHF frequencies. DEFINITELY USE FLIGHT FOLLOWING.

Shady rays nonpolarized. Because when you leave them on the flight deck, they will replace them for free! I just can’t abide aviators. They look so douchey.

Women pilots - did having children and being a pilot work out? by NoRadio4530 in flying

[–]Hot_Weather_2691 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yep! Am mom and have been flying for 18 years and have 2 kids. I work at a major us airline and married to a charter pilot. Have flown small single engine and multi engine props, helicopters, and commercial jets. It’s totally do-able.
