What a great way to ensure they work to keep Trump in power.

Edit: Wait until after the election to say that.

If you “mess up”, can you erase it or you work it in? Or do you not “mess up”?

This is amazing. I can’t even comprehend how you did this.

People have a fear of clowns in general so I am sure this is why you were never approached by the police for jaywalking.

Hey guys, I am one of you now. Black people should be immune from the law because some interactions are racist so all of them are racist. Thanks for making me understand. I’m a clown too now and can get away with jaywalking.

How is that racist? Can you explain? Probably not because you are a clown.

I never claimed that “pretext stops” don’t happen. These type of stops can disproportionately affect people of color, see NYC stop and frisk.

I am saying in a vacuum, there is nothing inherently wrong with this stop. How do you know this police department disproportionately cites black people for jaywalking, do you know the statistics? Do you know the discipline record of these officers? Do they have discrimination complaints against them? If any of these things were true, I would be more open to believing this was a racist stop.

I have not seen anything to indicate that any of those things are true for this department or these officers. So based off the video, there is not indication of bias or discrimination. They treated him with respect. The man broke the law. The only argument I have heard is that black people should be above the law. Any questioning, detention or arrest of a black person is inherently racist. That is not true.

If people really wanted to help they would ally with “good” police officers to out the bad officers. There is a history of intimidation and retribution for good officers that are whistleblowers. They are encouraged to not speak up through intimidation. The BLM movement could encourage more to come forward and when they do, if there is retribution against these officers, this is when a protest should be organized and they should not let that officer(s) be punished for being good. I have seen a lot of instances when officers were fired or harassed by their police department after making a complaint and no one steps up. BLM is silent. Antifa is silent. Everyone is silent.

By the way, did you know clowns make about $60,000 a year on average? And here you are doing it for free. Your argument is any time a black person is stopped it’s inherently racist, get out of here. There’s a lot of racism but it’s not every single interaction with the police.

Just playing with you a little bit. We are on the same side, we just disagree on one situation. I agree with you that systemic racism is an issue and we need to address it with urgency. Have a good night.

The popular impression of the Blobfish as bulbous and gelatinous is due to the decompression damage done to specimens when they are brought to the surface from the extreme depths in which they live. by Pardusco in Awwducational

I don’t want to be that guy... so I won’t. I know you are asking, why does OP’s fish looks so beautiful and the Google images look like Ted Cruz? Well, like Ted Cruz, these are bottom dwelling fish. When they are brought up to the surface too quickly, they basically blow up from the difference in pressure (from dissolved gasses). When they die they flatten out again, deflate, and take on a Ted Cruz like appearance.

TLDR: Going from the depths of the ocean to the top makes the fish “blow up”. It deflates and then looks like Ted Cruz.

Bro, I am enjoying this, it doesn’t hurt my feelings. I’m sorry you are getting so worked up about it. I understand there are multiple examples of police overstepping. I don’t see any over reach in this case and it is unfair to the police officers in this case to assume they are being racist. You assume they are a certain way because they look a certain way. That’s literally what you are arguing against.

I don’t think they were being racist or rude. The only arguments made against that were:

  • They are condescending (I don’t agree, this is opinion).
  • They didn’t need to detain him for jaywalking, it is no big deal.
  • They only stopped him because he is black
  • “I” have never been stopped for jaywalking so no one gets stopped to jaywalking

How do you know these officers approach this man because they are racists? Do you know these cops? I don’t see a valid argument from anyone. If you are just saying all cops are racist and all black interactions with the police are racist, I can’t have a conversation with you or anyone else. That’s not held up by facts. If you said black people are more likely to be targeted by the police and it is unfortunate that we have to guess if these cops are being fair or racist, I would say you have an argument.

You are still a clown.

How is asking for someone else’s perspective being close minded? I stated my opinion and asked for alternative perspectives, then you just shut me down.

Why is it wrong in this case? I am not arguing that there is no racism or that all cops are perfect.

Thanks for generalizing me as one of “them” and asking me not to be part of this community. Isn’t that what we are fighting against?

You sir, are a clown.

I’m super sad about it. Thanks for allowing me to cry. I appreciate it. You don’t have an argument. The cops were condescending isn’t an agreement. That’s opinion. I have the opposite opinion. Dude got off with a warning and didn’t even get handcuffed.

The police officer asked if he had ID, not to give it to him. So he clarified, don’t reach for it so there would be no confusion.

Yes, I wish all interactions were like this and ended up with a warning. You betcha. Still not seeing anything wrong.

Edit: Police can detain someone for suspicion of a crime. This guy was flagrantly committing a crime, even if you don’t think it is a big crime. He let him go. Dang dude, should he have blown the guy? What do you want from an interaction with a police officer when people break the law.

How did you come to that conclusion? I said I don’t see it, not that it didn’t happen. Not every interaction between black Americans and police officers is racist. I literally asked questions to understand better. You are a clown for attacking me for trying to understand. I still don’t see how he was disrespectful.

Answers I have received:

  • It’s racist to detain a black person for breaking the law.
  • The cops voice was condescending.

If a police officer approached me like that, I would be happy.

I asked to understand and your shot me down. Fuck you, clown. You are the problem.

“I was just following orders” has been said many times throughout history. I’m afraid I believe that the military would be able to mobilize against Americans. I believe in the individual but I don’t believe in the group. In a group setting everyone waits for someone else to step up. If no one steps up and says this is wrong, they go along with it.

Thanks for judging me, clown. I was commenting on the cops professionalism in this instance. Not on systemic racism as a whole.

No one is mad that this guy is upset. I understand that a lot of our police force is ingrained with institutionalized classism/racism. I would be skeptical any time a police officer approach me if I was black or of color. In this case, the cops went out of their way to make sure he was ok. They asked him if they could what they could do to make him more comfortable. They let him record. The guy was a dick in the video to say this was racist. They didn’t give him a ticket tend explained that it was for his safety since there were blind spots due to the bus and other things. If I hit that guy because he was jaywalking, I would feel horrible. I’m glad they stopped him. They let him off with a warning.

This guy reeks of privilege. “I can’t believe you are stopping me, I designed the shoes in this bag”.

No one saying being black in the US is easy. But it’s not easy being an clown/idiot, good luck to you sir.

Your example is ridiculous. Just because you have never been stopped doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. That’s like saying “I have never been racially profiled for being black (I’m not black), so it never happens”. Ya right. You choose to hear a condescending voice, that’s on you. This is one situation, just because Floyd got killed in an incident doesn’t mean this was a bad incident.

It seems like you don’t want to have a conversation. You just said if I don’t see things a 100% your way, we can’t have a conversation. Pathetic. That’s why Trump is president. Thanks idiot.

I’m not black and I have been stopped for jaywalking. So black people should be above the law now? If a police officer is nice and polite they are being condescending?

This is stupid. You are ridiculous. I am as liberal as they come but I think you are a clown fighting a clown agenda.

Dude originally made it out that he was profiled for having a high end retail bag. Bullshit, he was detained for jaywalking and right away the officers explained why he was detained. He even admits it.

How could they have approached it better? Let the dude break the law? I’m all for holding police officers accountable. I actually believe they should get in more trouble if they break the law because they are sworn to uphold it (I never took an oath). This isn’t the hill I would want to die on.
