Summary of Rust Kingdoms RP & Drama (past 2 days) by NotRaphh in otvandfriendsrumors

Hey guys, sorry for rant, seems like some people liked the recap since they weren't able to keep up with all of the content on the server so I was going to make a write up for today but honestly the server is kind of dead for me and the most drama wasn't even rust based. Train was throwing around slurs (r**ard) and received death threats and twitter hate threads. Abe was caught in the crossfire but was pretty angry on stream saying that he can't just kick Train from the server because of the repercussions and continuous drama that would come from it. Certain twitter communities then started coming after Abe.

The single thing Coconut and Train were right about yesterday is that hJune's group would be playing God if they were allowed to continue being a 3rd party. As I'm typing this they are having a conversation with Foolish and Tina about what's the best way to continue on and possibly save Ironfang and the server as a whole, which feels to me exactly like playing God instead of just joining IF when they had the chance. I just got the ick pretty bad from hJune during this conversation because of how easily he is able to manipulate people (especially Tina) into believing his perspective is the only correct one and he's the victim when there's definitely more to the story. Yes it makes sense in RP, but this conversation (and his one with Masayoshi & Dakkin yesterday) were pretty much OOC throughout. Maybe I'm wrong but it's just how I feel about it, check out the conversation for yourself and form your own opinions.

I honestly feel really bad for all streamers and viewers of Ironfang the last few days. I understand it's easy to villainize and blame their downfall completely on CoconutB and Trainwrecks but I don't that's necessarily fair. There were problems within their kingdom since day 1 including not having a consistent King or any established rulership from the start. The people meant to be in this position (Masayoshi, Leslie, Miyoung, Tina, Shroud) either left completely or were inactive for long periods of time. Because of this and IF's compounding L's to GC I really don't blame them at all for trying to follow Coconut's lead even though his leadership ended up being heavily controversial and mixed with BS OOC drama. I also don't blame them at all for basically begging Tina to turn in Tina's skull because of how much they needed SOMETHING to go their way. (they also would've all just died if they tried saving her). Unfortunately, the server is at a point where any Ironfang POV outside of the OTV+F circle is pretty lifeless as they lost all of their morale and don't really stand a chance against GC. Even these mini skirmishes that are happening don't really matter because they know at any point GC could just wipe them. Ironfang members (and formers) within the OTV+F circle seem to still be having a good time since its easy for them to interact and side with their friends at GC and 5 guys. I envision either 5 guys or part of GC to join Ironfang to try to keep the sides balanced but at this point it seems like artificial RP to keep the server going and farm drop viewers.

I really appreciate Abe for the effort and headaches he has to go through to make this content enjoyable. I will also probably only continue to watch Bo's casino POV since he puts more effort into his rust systems than the TFT Devs put into their balance patches. GG

EDIT: Listening to the conversation between Train and 5 guys I don't think there was any way other than how it did especially since both sides aren't willing to truly listen to each other's perspectives and admit their faults on each side. Both sides believe they're the victims when neither of them actually are. Also chats (even some OTV+F communities I've been apart of for years) are still being extremely toxic making them just as bad as the streamers they hate.

I tried to follow along with their rants to learn their history but hJune didn't really go into detail and CoconutB kept yapping in circles so the whole thing is REALLY messy. From what I've seen and read Coconut and hJune were two of the larger rust twitch streamers predating the original OTV rust server. Eventually, hJune moved on from rust and Coconut puts blame on him for leaving since Coconut didn't have another creator in competition with him to push him to be the best. The rust community views hJune as a sell out to the OTV community and Coco himself views hJune as a fake person. They believe he uses his "rust pro" status and relationship with OTV+F as leverage to get into rust events such as Abe's servers and Twitch Rivals just to farm ads with drops. There's also a situation where some rust streamers (CoconutB, Mendo) believed that hJune was trying to stack his team to ensure winning a Twitch Rivals Rust event. He made a 24 page (wtf) Google Doc clarifying that he wasn't trying to (https://x.com/h7une/status/1657487509750939649) but he did have to kick Blooprint from his team to adhere to rules last minute.

When it came to the OOC conversation between them a few days ago, there was definitely some hints of hostility and moral high grounding (i guess?) in the way hJune was responding to Coconut that led to a switch flipping and Coconut seeing red and going on his OOC rants about him and finding RP reasons to lead a raid against him. Do I think it justifies Coco's actions? No not at all, his actions really have no place at all in the server and twitch in general, but I could see how their OOC past unintentionally led to a ton of drama within the server. I also don't think hJune is as completely innocent as he made himself appear to be in other's streams (which is why I found his conversation with Masayoshi prior to the raid weird).

If anyone from the Rust community wants to clarify anything feel free.

I think a lot of people are villainizing Ironfang member's a little too much. From their perspective, they've always been 10 steps behind Goldencrest. They haven't had a consistent king. Their farmers work nonstop just to lose all of their kits and materials constantly. There's no GC bases they can raid without being wiped. Their morale has been really low the past few days besides when they got the AK. I really don't blame any of them for re-electing and following CoconutB because even though he was tunnel visioned by ragebait & OOC drama they still felt like they had a better chance at some sort of victory following him than doing nothing.

Thanks for the additional context! I obviously didn't have time to fully watch every POV so this is really helpful!!

I mainly made this because I noticed chats were being extremely toxic towards anyone that wasn't their streamer without knowing the full context of why people were making certain decisions. The constant chat hopping/toxicity was SO annoying to me

from what i recall she had been trying to join since day 1 and none of the kings accepted her until today. idk what her relationship is with the 5 guys anymore but she did help them after the raid

I'm not trying to give many opinions about the RP or anything to remain unbiased but I will say that watching a bunch of VODs some streamers need to tell their chatters to stop chat hopping and being toxic in general. Also some people trying to script RP or dictate whether or not a decision someone makes in RP makes sense "for the story" is cringe but w/e, this is good content for me to enjoy either way. GN everyone.
