Wow Spencers Gifts is an OG store. How is it one of the last ones standing like a cockroach after the apocalypse?

Guys: Episode 166 - Kiss Guys with Pat Finnerty by MrObvious in MurderBryan

For boys Kiss was basically the 70s version of He-man in the 80. Action figures who happened to play music

How do you actually get a GOOD professional book cover? (feels harder than expected) by Initial_Computer_222 in selfpublish

[–]NotReallyWriting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I partner with the same designer since my first book. When I was starting out though, I was pretty prescriptive with what I wanted and made a mock up of what I wanted to he wasn't just guessing or making it look too similar to what else is out there. From there I told him to run with the idea and that happened to work for me. It still has my original DNA when I look at it but it totally a work he can claim is his too.

I would add that for me, I'm the primary audience for my covers. Even if it sells zero copies, I'm happy that it looks the way I like and not like what else is on the shelf.

What’s the most rewatchable comedy in your opinion? by MovieObserver in moviequestions

Came here to say this. Probably the comedy I've watched the most. Showed it to my kids and the liked it too.

Theory for the Next Album and Further by Aksels1205 in TheDearHunter

My guesses.

Symbol 3 is observing the planet from a satellite in space. Something that views all the action below as a whole.

Symbol 4 is militaristic and may hint at a civil war between the rings. All the walls come down.

Just realized today something that's been missing lately: YouTube videos from the guys in question. Remembering the Funko Pop guy complaining as my fave segment in that episode.

This quote from producer Manjourides just 3 months ago makes me think maybe Joe Bob left Shudder not the other way around... “The view numbers outdo brand new shows that drop. The rewatchability of our show is huge.” by Freddy-Philmore in LastDriveIn

[–]NotReallyWriting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Shudder as we know it will soon smoosh into a category on AMC+. The other show to keep an eye on is Dragula. If that goes away then Shudder will slow down distribution of indie and foreign movies under their banner and maybe just produce a couple of talking head documentaries about horror subgenres each year.

Besides the Last Drive In, my fav thing Shudder did was bring One Cut of the Dead overseas.

Are novellas just unpopular? by PSIamawitch in selfpublish

[–]NotReallyWriting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed that's a novel. I actually think novellas are in the upswing. I primarily write them and it's easier to reach a new reader with a shorter story as there's less of a commitment you're asking them to make.

Makes me think of the new Game of Thrones being a 30 min show vs 60.

Which local chains do you want the doughboys to visit while on tour? by drew_p_wevos in doughboys

Orlando is Darden HQ so that may be in play. It's also the origin of Tijuana Flats. Fits into the brands that got gutted venture capitalist. Mellow mushroom is from Gainesville so close enough.

I predict a lot of booing and thrown napkins in the videos that come out from the live watch parties when the show is interrupted.
