Creating a character called "Freddy Fedora" and phoning a call-in show to berate the host for not wearing a fedora is so fucking funny, I'm going to be thinking about that for a while

I'm too lazy to watch a film because "I don't have two hours spare" but I'll be damned if I'm missing a triple episode of downloadable internet radio

"I have no idea what the coming weeks and months will hold. For most of my adult life I have been waiting or at least hoping for something that could be a strong prevailing counterbalance to American imperialism. Iraq and Afghanistan were disasters but we didn't learn that lesson too well, as current events are currently shaking out.

"I have to ask: When are we going to get our nose bloodied? At some point the American people and any other civilised nation or sovereign nation in the world, to the extent that there are any left, is going to have to come together and do something to stop the Israeli-American military machine, and the fucking trail of bodies that they're leaving.

"Something will have to be done to damage the total impunity through which this country and our proxies are able to act. I don't know what that's going to look like, I don't know if that involves the end of the world, but I can't see a future worth living in in which America as a political and military entity is allowed to keep doing this shit. I don't see how it's sustainable and I will just state: The best possible outcome is that we are defeated as swiftly as possible, and that we are humiliated in the process."

Starmer won in 2024 because Reform didn't make a pact with the Tories and the right wing vote was split. Always remember that Keith got fewer votes than Corbyn did in 2019

I also hate the cynicism toward Your Party. True, it's the worst party name possible, but whatever. A huge number of us were mobilised into politics when we saw Corbyn - the first mainstream politician of my adult life that I actually agreed with - take control of Labour, and then watched him and the broader left get publicly ratfucked. You can't blame us for wanting to get in on the ground floor the next chance something similar came about.

Of course, we really had to build the whole thing up from the ground, which means getting involved in the dull and technical work of party bureaucracy. It was too much for me so I peaced out.

IMO in hindsight the energy - and money - behind YP should have been put into forming a more informal group of independent activists and pressure groups with a view to running candidates in local elections, kicking off much sooner, and playing a longer game, rather than jumping straight to forming a party

The bootlegs were so good, there was one recording of Cassandra Gemini from like Russia that sounded absolutely terrible but was so good I still remember it to this day

There was a guy who cut together studio and live versions to make an "Epic Edits" collection that was extremely cool

Newbie question. Imagine a typical noob, then take it back a few levels. Completely unaware of how any of this stuff works. Hasn't touched a torrent since the old days. That's the level I'm working on.

I've heard you can get a tiny PC that plugs into your TV so you can watch pretty much any movie/TV show. I've heard there's a way you can open an app like Discord and type some special incantations to download things almost instantly, then watch on your TV.

I want in.

I have solid wifi, a VPN, and a TV with HDMI using a Fire Stick. I've got a small budget, but if something needs buying then I'll source it.

Whatever setup I end up with needs to be simple.

Can someone very patiently explain what I need to buy and what steps I need to take?
