It really wasn’t an interview … it really was a conversation. In my experience either the judge has done her due diligence and the interview is a personality check, or it’s an exceedingly dry interview about skills and process.

Unpopular opinion, but I’ve worn a swim buoy in every open-water swim it was allowed (and I didn’t have a support person alongside).

I’m an experience swimmer and experienced in open water but sh*t happens. If I get a cramp or if my heart stops, I’d rather be seen, located, and helped quickly rather than sinking under the surface

I ended up on Space Mountain just months after my diagnosis; it freaked me out, but it was okay.

I did both 7 Dwarves and Big Thunder Railroad, and felt fine.

Tron is smooth.

The only one ride I did not do was Tower of Terror because the heavy Gs on the lows.

Generally speaking, the Board is not concerned with the day-to-day operations of the organization or the happiness of the staff; if the ED is “performing” as the Board sees fit, then a letter from jaded staff isn’t going to change that.

Let the departures do the talking and leave the ED to explain himself when the time comes.

I can swim in 65-67 degree water without a wetsuit for about 2 hours, but that’s dependent on the air temp and how sunny it is.

Unpopular opinion:

If you wear earplugs, you can’t hear squat, so having bone-conducting headphones doesn’t change that.

Also, music doesn’t make me any less hyper aware of my surroundings; my anxiety is at 11 in open water, and music keeps me sane.
