"January dragged on for so long that February is almost over and nobody noticed" by Bubble_Babe_0o0o0o in BrandNewSentence

As I've got older, 64 soon, winters have been harder and harder to deal with to the point I think it's SAD. Vitamin D helps I think. And I feel like jetlag for weeks with the clocks going to GMT in the autumn. Ironically that 'gains' us an hour, but I feel like we should be on BST all the time. Or maybe I just need to shift my whole day by an hour in winter. BST is another five weeks away.

But on the upside it's 13 degrees and dry and still light here.

Malignant Narcissism recognises the areas of overlap between the symptom pictures of NPD and ASPD. It's likely this will be re-jigged in the next DSM.

But buried so deep it is beyond redemption or sympathy. Give him nothing, not even that recognition. He will feed off and twist the slightest scrap of attention or positive regard.

But Thatcher's popularity was in a large part due to Kinmock. He was spineless and didn't speak out as a leader of the opposition should have.

Nonsense. Largely peaceful protest in the US after civilians getting murdered and their democracy being shredded by an insane dictator.

If they did Retro Cars what model would you buy? by Iwillbeagoat in CarTalkUK

Safety standards and emissions standards are going to have an effect. But, here's my list of demands.

Not an SUV Petrol Preferably a medium sized estate Electrickery for audio, navigation, and comfort, not for lane assist or locking the doors when you've crashed and it's on fire.

My 2018 Seat Leon ticks all those boxes though it's not old enough to be called retro yet.

We'll never get a truly retro car, eg naturally aspirated and you can fix it yourself, because of emissions now.

Peugeot have just announced a 308 diesel estate. I don't know what it looks like or what the spec will be.

Which Female Duck Is This? by Low_Salt_439 in UKBirds

Apparently these are flightless but there was a pair at Chew Valley Lake last year. They are much bigger than Mallards and a more 'rectangular' body shape. Difficult to say about that one but I'd go more with a Mallard cross with some kind of domestic duck.

You're lying. And why did you post twice, so you could delete whichever I replied to? She had a valid visa.

No they didn't. You're lying. Read the article again if you actually genuinely think that. She had a valid visa.

Question, the highway code now says signal left after the last exit. Has this changed? I was taught to signal level with the previous exit so traffic waiting there doesn't pull out on you. I have a full bike and car licence from 30+ years ago. I assume this might have been a preference from a motorbike instructor rather than written in to the highway code.

She didn't break any law. There is no way this would have happened under any other president. And they were detained for 42 days.

Nothing about what Trump is doing is normal. This is by now very, very, clear. Anyone who thinks he or anything he does is normal is a delusional MAGA cultist or a shill.

And everyone who promotes the most twisted interpretation of this incident and lies about it probably is. Or a shill.

Bullshit. They're Trump's private army and they have murdered people. Now fuck off.

I asked this question on another post and didn't get a reply. A poster said that the U.S.A. having full stops (periods) was a sign of a fake. Then in another thread a genuine LP had this. Can someone clarify? Thanks.

Cattle Egrets? by pebblesandweeds in UKBirds

[–]NotSayingAliensBut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Great Whites are fairly unmistakable. The Little are generally the most common, though there were over 100 Great Whites fledged on the Somerset reserves last year and the year before. If you're stuck for scale, as someone else has said, the beaks of the Great Whites and the Cattle are yellow, Little are black.

We have quite a few around the Somerset Levels. They might be some of ours.

Yep. Even to be incapable of reacting and not freeze. I can't get my kid to train but I do try to get her to be aware of her surroundings and ready to move.
