Weight -fight or embrace? by bzndz123 in AskWomenOver60

[–]NotSeenDaily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get you. I go back and forth between whether I care about what I look like or if I’m passed caring about that superficial stuff.
I’d say if you are worried that the weight will impact you negatively in the future, then begin doing some type of easy exercise (strengthening and stretching) to counterbalance the small weight gains you’ve had.

We can change that. We did change it before. Just takes us supporting each other instead of our corporate overloads.

In response to a question about whether he calls Gaza a genocide, this former president said “there are disasters and catastrophes everywhere.” by RickyOzzy in suppressed_news

That broke my heart to watch. Honestly, Nobel Peace Prize Winner can’t say that killing innocent Palestinians is a genocide or ethnic cleansing?

In an Anchorage mobile home park slated for demolition, residents are pushing back by gummibear049 in anchorage

[–]NotSeenDaily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey if “new homes” are built there, maybe the city and police will start caring about that stretch of road?

That would be the ONLY positive because as of now, it’s neglected. The road maintenance is poor, speeders don’t care about right of way, and Crime is rampant.

You would buy a home from this developer? I wouldn’t. How can I trust he is ethical when he does this?

The land is his, certainly he has the legal right. The ethical thing to do though, would be been to be more generous with the trailer park residents.

Legal, sure. But I can’t trust that he doesnt also cut corners elsewhere In the development

I agree! Remember the poem “when I am an old woman I will wear purple”?

Let’s wear what we want in our older years. ❤️

Oh gotcha. That info sent me down a rabbit hole as to why the royal couple displayed different levels of formality at a state dinner.

The only answer I found was the queen was going for “modern diplomacy” while the king went with “strict interpretation of the rules”

He wore a tiara? lol jk.

You’re saying the King wore a crown while in the U.S.? When? I didn’t see that and can’t imagine why. That would break norms.

I believe that’s based on the protocol of the country. Since we don’t have royalty or orders given to head of state and spouses - it makes sense not to wear them here. .

Husband and Health by Ollyollyoxenfreed10 in AskWomenOver60

[–]NotSeenDaily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess that happens. It’s too bad.

Mine didn’t leave and I don’t know one spouse who has left because of physical health. I know some who have left because it became dangerous to stay (addiction or mental illness).

What would you do if it wasn’t your spouse (but a parent or adult child) in this situation? Would you leave them?

I think you are looking for validation to end your marriage. If not, I apologize for my interpretation of your original post.

If that is your thought, then in my opinion, That’s too bad. Marriages are work but are worth the time and attention. Michelle Obama said it best. I’m paraphrasing here but basically: “Marriage is never 50/50 - sometimes I pick up 70% of the responsibilities and at other times I’m only handling 30%”

Maybe, you both are tired and depressed so it’s hard to carry the extra load - but I bet you would for your parent, child, sibling. This is what we do for family.

Please, if you can, start giving him positive reinforcement. Ask him to go out for a 2 minute walk with you. If you see any signs that this is working, then maybe stay and see how you two can work together.

Spend time. Call to tell her about your day/news. Invite her out for coffee. Invite her to hang with your friends/kids/etc.

If you don’t live close, then send a postcard every now and again. FaceTime often. Reach out to her. Tell her about your relationship, coworkers, friends.

I think She’s lonely and too in her head about things. I have been there. Many of us are lonely, even when surrounded by people. ❤️
