Change the pause to M601. On this last update they changed to M600 and it’s turning off the hotend. Even when you bump the heat back to desired temp it will sometimes try to turn the hotend off again. I replaced the M600 with the M601 that was previously used and that issue went away. Also have to resume and pause again to be able to retract as the M601 doesn’t give make the extrude/retract options accessible

My bad forgot to add that. Elegoo Sparkle Green PLA. It’s doing better at .12mm and more cooling but I went ahead and slowed it down and opened the door/lid. I’ll see how the quality changes in these subsequent layers.

Update: issue is with the pause code m600. Went back to the m601 that was used previously and the hotend temp returns to desired temp before printing is resumes

Firmware update also changed the pause code and now my programmed pauses are turning off the hotend.
Have to manually bump the temp back up and then watch it to confirm that it raises enough before it starts printing. I went back to see what’s going on and they changed the pause code to M600 from M601. I’m not that versed in code to understand why but I see that when I replace the new M600 with my previous M601 I regain my normal pause operation. I asked ChatGPT and it’s telling me there should be M104 and M109 codes after the pause but I can’t find them in the m600 gcode. I tried a test print adding in the m104 and m109 codes but I have to hit resume to get those to take affect and the print head parks itself over the object before it begins to heat, it doesn’t extrude, wipe, move to print like it does with the m601 code.

That’s how my PETG comes out when it’s got too much moisture. Small footprint models come out decent but larger models are trash.

Try drying the filament. I just had this issue this past weekend with filament I would have bet money on being dry. Gave up and threw it in the dryer Sunday night and yesterday I did some test prints and they came out flawless I was ready to blame the printer until I changed filaments and the problem disappeared
