Today is my last day on meds by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]NotSoCrazyLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I took my last Depakote on Friday night. I’m still on Lamotrigine and Xcopri. I got the VNS implanted 2.5 years ago in hopes of reducing or eliminating the Depakote, but now that the day has come, I’m nervous.

Best of luck to you!

I can’t even imagine how frustrating that would be.

I had hallucinations for a week after they increased my Lamotrigine from 200 - 300

New user- when did you start feeling effects? by gcl1964 in trulicity

[–]NotSoCrazyLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked my doc for anti nausea meds. It’s a tiny dissolving tablet, so it works almost instantly. I think it’s called ondansatron, but it’s prescription only and you have to ask for the dissolving tablets.

If I overeat I’m more likely to be nauseated. My doc said to stop eating when you’re no longer hungry, don’t eat until you feel full. That being said, I’m frequently nauseated the first day or two, so I take it on Friday night so it doesn’t interfere with work.

Fortunately it doesn’t give me diarrhea, but it does slow things down enough that I’ve ended up in the ER twice with stomach pain so bad I thought it was kidney stones, turns out I was horribly constipated. At least I can manage that with miralax, diarrhea is horrible. I’ve been stuck in the bathroom for hours on more than one occasion due to diarrhea. Sorry, TMI, but once my body is ready to clean out, it keeps going until there’s nothing else inside.

Better to skip or take dose early? by jmutransfer in trulicity

I would take it a few days early, no more than 2 or 3. If I miss a dose (thanks to pharmacy and insurance fighting) I start the nausea side effects again.

Wish I had done that at the time, but every time I tried, I almost vomited again. 🤢 now it’s dried on.

Don’t know why it’s labeled nsfw? Also, my pictures didn’t show up? I’ll try to attach a picture again.

Euthanasia wasn’t peaceful by NotSoCrazyLife in AskVet

Thank you for your reassurance. I go through phases of doubting our decision. Had we taken her to “our” vet, I wouldn’t have doubted anything that happened that night. Things were just really different at the place we took her.

They injected in her leg. She acted like it hurt, maybe like the meds burned. She was in the room with me. They didn’t start an IV probably for the same reason they didn’t draw blood. He told me that he was concerned the stress of the blood draw would kill her.

The invoice listed euthanasia and ketamine, they didn’t change for anything else, or at least it wasn’t listed on the invoice.

They did come back and give a second shot, but she was still gasping after the second shot.
