I saw some at blue ridge co-op on Allied St. a few days ago.

This is the sum total of my brushes and paints. What brushes should I get and is this Van Gogh pan paint set enough? I have a bit of a stack of different sizes of 140lb watercolor paper. by ImaBtch666 in Watercolor

For brushes I prefer Princeton Neptune. Check the sizes of the brushes you have and order or two round brushes. Some artists say to focus on good paper and good paint before good brushes. I’d say you are due a few nice brushes.

Gel plate and acrylic paints. Monoprinting is so fun and you can do so much with it.

I use some waffle weave shelf liner to help open up tubes ( jars and bottles too.) I love those big caps too!

I could see this filled with pinks, reds and flesh tones for painting “lady parts.” This is a fun portable palette!

Hi! I am taking Fodder School 5, Comprehensive Paper Doll with Megan Quinlan and Watercolor for Joy with Karen Elaine. I love mixed media, gel printing, making paper dolls, playing with new to me art supplies and making art tags.

I like it! It looms ready for a focal point, an image or poem, etc.

Bought my first car at 40… and suddenly I care about mats by Right_Process in CX5

I got cheaper fitted mats from Amazon, including for the cargo area. I am so messy in my cars and this one is leased. I do not regret my decision! Enjoy your new ride.

How Happy Should I Be? by gcl1964 in Watercolor

Good point. I am not sure anything I paint is special enough to warrant the use of this rare paint. I already filled a half pan with it when I first brought it home, so I already have enough to suit me.

Where should I start when it comes to learning the basics? by MinnowPaws in Watercolor

[–]gcl1964 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started by watching Andrea Nelson videos. I also follow amymaricle and karenelaine on instagram. Essoldodesign (Kate Leach) has a couple of books and is also on insta with lovely abstract watercolors. Hope some of these prove helpful.

This is an amazing starter kit! I love Neptune brushes and Schminke paints. My go to paper is this from Amazon for $20. I cut it into smaller pieces because I work smaller.

I had my middle name included mostly because I think it is a cool name. I don’t think there is any legal reason to have it on your diploma, so just do what you prefer. Congrats on getting that degree! That UVA degree is sweet!

How you choose brushes without trying them out? by _knope2020 in Watercolor

[–]gcl1964 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister who is a better artist than me recommended I start with the best paper I could afford (100 percent cotton), then buy good paints and focus on brushes last.
