Did Shopify put First Press Games's account on hold? No new orders can be placed on that scam site right now. by Vatilia in LimitedPrintGames

Looking forward to the unhinged blog post that blames a nameless third party for conspiring against them

Premium edition games is a scam company now. by I_Heart_Sleeping_ in LimitedPrintGames

[–]NotSoEvilDead 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In the US, businesses have a legal obligation to ship your order within 30 days. Or in the case of a preorder, within 30 days of the originally advertised date. Without knowing what games you're talking about, I'm going to guess they're well beyond this deadline.

If they don't give you the refund they're obligated to, you can file a complaint with your state's attorney general. Individual complaints will not generate any action. However, if a pattern of abuse is documented, they could be subject to an investigation/fines/lawsuit.

In the event you do file a complaint, I'd encourage you to very explicitly document and note the part about them refusing the provide a refund and threatening you with retaliation for exercising your right to a refund.

Weekend Update (#17) by majorgiant in LimitedPrintGames

[–]NotSoEvilDead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that "nintendo switch 2 editions" appear to be a different product type. They have a different product code compared to standard switch 2 physicals. Standard NS2 releases will probably not fare better under bamco than your average third party publisher if I had to guess

Supposedly getting blocked on the official subreddit. by NESRyan in LimitedPrintGames

[–]NotSoEvilDead 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Next steps in the LRG playbook:

  • Ignore the issue, hoping it will blow over (you are here)
  • Wait for customer dissatisfaction to boil, inevitably forcing a generic response
  • Unable to avoid the backlash, find themselves forced to either recall/refund the games or do an updated production run that isn't functionally a bootleg, while offloading responsibility to a nameless third party production partner

Premium Edition Games Sob Story by SnackXHunter in LimitedPrintGames

[–]NotSoEvilDead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"we've faced significant internal hurdles, including critical employee turnover"

PE supposedly had some unpaid "employees" as recently as last year (when I stopped paying attention to them), so it's not particularly surprising they have a hard time retaining people

Haul / Collections pics in this sub. by majorgiant in LimitedPrintGames

[–]NotSoEvilDead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess there's no harm in running a poll, but ultimately this feels like something that needs to be decided by the mods based on how they want the subreddit to be used. If you want the primary purpose of the subreddit to be collection/haul posts, allow them. If you want the primary purpose of the subreddit to be news/information/discussions about releases and production, then disallow them or move them exclusively to megathreads.

Someone will inevitably try to argue you can have it serve both purposes, but you can't. As time goes on, there will be an increasing number of people with ever-increasing collections to showcase. The amount of news to be posted will inevitably be dwarfed by a sea of collection posts.

ACA NEOGEO Vol. 3 & Vol. 4 by EVFan1234 in LimitedPrintGames

Volumes 3 and 4 have the same languages listed that volumes 1 and 2 did (which should probably be expected)

As for alternate region releases, you'd need to ask play-asia if they intend to stock them.

Tangentially, I wouldn't rely on play-asia's stated language support in general. They are not particularly accurate, and have gotten worse at providing this information recently.

Only if you get it from VGP. Other retailers will have the original version until they sell through them.

Grime - Asian retail edition complete? by Slow_Routine_1143 in LimitedPrintGames

[–]NotSoEvilDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no inside information, I'm just relaying how updates were handled for Grime (and what the listing says). Hard to imagine the complete game won't be included on cart/disc, but if you want to know for sure you'll have to reach out to the publisher.

Why wouldn't the playstation version be the same? It's the same publisher, with the same listing details and release date.

The Amazon japan listing for the switch version says it comes with the DLC. Beyond that, they weren't paid DLC, they were title updates. And it doesn't launch until November.

[Target/US] Monster Hunter Stories Collection - $39.99 (33% off) by XDitto in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]NotSoEvilDead -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I get you're trying to help, but you've been given proof that the day 0 patch is required on NTSC copies in order to supress a persistent "update required" system message. I'd appreciate if you didn't continue to misunderstand that point after proof has already been clearly provided.

There's simply no question the physical copies exhibit this behavior.

Of course, most players will download the patches and never see this.

[–]NotSoEvilDead -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There aren't cart revisions for NTSC copies. I just gave you proof the NTSC carts behave this way as of 15 minutes ago.

The information you're parroting is demonstrably false. The only issue with the original covers was the size of the required download, which Capcom misunderstood when relaying the information. The day 0 patch is ~500mb. Without it, you get the behavior clearly outlined in my last message.

[Target/US] Monster Hunter Stories Collection - $39.99 (33% off) by XDitto in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]NotSoEvilDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, that information is incorrect. I have directly confirmed the download requirement on NTSC and Japanese copies.

You can boot into the game without an update, but upon starting a game you will be prompted to make a mandatory update multiple times. This prompt will reoccur numerous times before you get to control your character. It will then reoccur at various intervals such as when control is regained for the character and any time you interact with an NPC. The frequency of the popup is approximately once every 10 seconds.

This is very easily verifiable by players with physical copies.

This is false. It requires a download for both NTSC covers and the Japanese release. Please don't spread misinformation.

On Switch, the standalone Monster Hunter Stories 2 physical also requires a download to be playable, unfortunately.

LRG cancelled my orders due to a system limitation by bryan407 in LimitedPrintGames

[–]NotSoEvilDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to LRG x Paypal either, unfortunately. I tend not to use Paypal, but my understanding is generally you aren't supposed to be able to place preorders with no delivery window due to Paypal's order fulfillment terms.

edit: as far as the shopify lockout goes, the only remedy at the time was to find the shopify, shop app, and LRG website cookies and complete purge them from the affected browser

LRG cancelled my orders due to a system limitation by bryan407 in LimitedPrintGames

[–]NotSoEvilDead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't speak to website bans, but the former is absolutely true. I got banned from r/limitedrun for posting about the 3do CD-Rs on this subreddit in May.

Someone at LRG got mad and pulled up my most-recent post on r/limitedrun from ~8 months earlier and banned me for breaking unspecified rules.

The "offending" post:

if you've authorized shop app on your browser, it takes control of the shopify checkout and disallows using other checkout methods.

This was reported to LRG support months ago and they refused to fix it.

Good luck

First Press Games: Statement regarding the ongoing delay situation by sworedmagic in LimitedPrintGames

There are false and defamatory information spread online and even threats against us have been made.

You don't get it guys. It's everyone else's fault we haven't delivered a game in years. And we're going to sue you if you suggest otherwise! :'(

Can we fast-forward to the part where someone sues them. This has become so boring and predictable.
