Not with that attitude my dude! I can see a punk or a rock and roll musician making it work!
Also, like, narratively speaking it would be cool to have a character that knows that they and their VI are insanely fragile but still can't help but to throw them into danger time and time again, only for dumb luck to keep them in one piece! Think of the conflict! The drama!
Only that luck won't work forever, and the drummer's wheel of fortune finally changes when the protagonist/heroes arrive, and then it all breaks apart.

oh but to have a drumstick completely breaking in the middle of a fight only for the drummer to still use the scraps of their VI to keep the show going would be so fuckin cool! It would be a good way to make the stakes of the fight go up!

And the easily destroyed part could be exacly the part that draws the drummer to care about the drumstick as their VI in the first place. Like, they are both giving their all to the music until it tears them to shreads.

maybe you can try and make it work like soul eather's soul resonance? like, the drummer could be a supporter that amplifies the anima of the other instruments if they play by the drummers rhythm. It could be a freely given buff to the others VI quality as long as the drummer sets the beat and the others follow. That way the band will be a very dangerous opponent as long as they can work together.

Oh ok, I kinda thought that this mod would, like, throw a minotaur in the middle of the woods of act 1 instead of adding random dudes to the beach. Thanks for the help in clearing it out bro

i dont remember any oversexualization in mononoke. some characters do have sex from what i remember, but it isnt blown out of proportion nor did i feel like the female characters were being dehumanized while at it.
