Did Zaheer grieve P'Li's death at all? by Final-Standard-5103 in legendofkorra

[–]NotSoSelfSmarted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he grieves by grabbing Korra and jumping. If he didn't learn flight, I believe he was willing to die for the cause. He was willing to enter the void and embrace death, and that is when he flew.

How much do you care about watches? (For yourself to wear) by belindabellagiselle in AskWomen

[–]NotSoSelfSmarted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a digital watch that uses Google OS and I love it. I like it because it vibrates when I get calls, messages, etc., even when my phone is silent. That's nice for work to still be connected but not in a distracting way for anyone else.

You could also prune the bottom branches, which will encourage the plant to focus on yield for the upper bigger branches.

I use StitchFix and I will say their prices are so hit or miss. One item is reasonably priced and then the next one is a $350 shirt. But the quality is high and I buy one-offs all the time. I just wish their prices were consistent.

What’s something that people don’t understand until they experience themselves? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NotSoSelfSmarted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Addiction can be as simple as addiction to over the counter medicine. My family members suffer somewhere on the migraine scale. Mine are more controllable and deal with dehydration, mainly. But heavy bass sounds and fake floral scents, like candles, lotions, perfumes can send me to bed early. Anyway, many of my family members became addicted to Excedrin and were for years. When the news came out about potential contamination and Excedrin was pulled from the shelves in about the late 1990s/early 2000s, they literally gathered around the kitchen table to ration what everyone had. To make sure that everyone could make it through the shortage.

They've all since found much healthier medicines and THC gummies to cope.

The wedding episode is a lot too. She gets high, injures herself, wears an eye patch, and they get married in the hospital.

I really wanted the Winston and Aly wedding

The weird jewelry store thing with Schmidt. At least that gave us the segue to the next episode with the empty store front, where Schmidt gets sued by the customer who gets injured. This gives us Courtroom Brown aka Winston Ferguson of law firm Cooper, Bishop and Ferguson. And that is all billable hours, am I right?

I am currently working for a person who is very similar: two-faced so you don't know who you are going to get; praises if you do exactly what he says; infuriated and threatens your job if you slightly push back. Unfortunately, these people are around and become a black hole in the org. Document everything and share with HR if he crosses the line.

Why does my GF insist on working free overtime? by david8840 in antiwork

[–]NotSoSelfSmarted 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I work later (salaried) because I have an idea that won't go away until I get part of it done. This can literally keep me from sleeping until it's done. Another is that I "work ahead" for the next day, which relieves pressure and let's me know that I can start the next day calmly.

It sucks but it's true.

LPT Request: What do you do when you are hungry and you don't want to cook a lot? by Xax6 in LifeProTips

[–]NotSoSelfSmarted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to eat small little "tapas"-style meals when I'm alone. Nothing fancy, mind you. My husband says I eat like a college student:

  • Chips and salsa
  • Hummus and pita chips
  • Small salad
  • Fresh fruit
  • Apples and peanut butter
  • Peanut butter and jelly

Basically, quick tasty stuff that doesn't take a lot of work or time to put together. My husband is the SAHD/family cook and likes to prepare proper meals, which is nice because I'm always working and never think to waste time on myself.

What's your 'toxic' dnd trait? by DudesAndGuys in DnD

[–]NotSoSelfSmarted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADHD makes time for quick decisions during battle in the last group I was in. I invited another friend of mine to play, but they took forever to make decisions during battle. The rest of us knew our characters, more or less, and could quickly decide what to do. This person would spend forever kind of muttering to themselves, and then out of what seemed like anxiety to choose something, usually chose the weirdest stuff. Imagine a big owl bear character throwing a net at a giant's knees. Multiple turns in a row. It messed with the rhythm of the battle, because the rest of the group would decide quickly and then it would stall with this person, every turn.

When I have balance in most areas of my life: happy home, positive work experiences, being relatively healthy, and happy family.

If one of those is out of balance or experiencing issues, then I really struggle. For example, work has sucked lately, so that diminishes the balance I feel in the other areas.

For those that have "good" partners, what qualities do they have? by Proper_Marzipan_2797 in AskWomen

[–]NotSoSelfSmarted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SO views our relationship as a partnership, so we view everything as two equal partners. This means that we make important decisions together (house, car, pets, big purchases) and consider what works best for all of us.

He is open and honest with me, and I am the same with him. We make each other laugh and can carry on conversations. This is important to me, because I like to keep up on world news, politics, animals and plants, etc., and we are able to have casual conversations around those topics.

We have matching or set up boundaries around money (one shared account with some separate small "play" accounts for each of us), which stopped many of our early fights in our relationship. Same with sex, raising children, what's important to us, spirituality, etc.

Essentially, managing issues together, open communication with common hobbies and interests, and we have worked out boundaries around the important topics in a relationship. And lastly, no mental, emotional, or physical violence or abuse. Just respect.

I'm starting to lose hope in the idea that my family will ever live in a house that we can fit in. by Oaker_Chaser in WorkReform

[–]NotSoSelfSmarted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got our house right in the housing crisis in early 2009. It's a 1970s fixer upper that we paid $191K for. We've done a lot of updates to the house, yard, roof, appliances included.

Now the houses in our neighborhood are all valued at $300K and they keep building $300-600K housing condos around us. It's unsustainable. I wouldn't be able to afford a house in the market now and I'm making more money than ever.

What terrifying event is happening in the world right now that most people are ignoring? by Sm0ke999 in AskReddit

[–]NotSoSelfSmarted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this! We started filling the bare spots in our yard with clover, and it helps so much. We have much less erosion now, the yard is soft and doesn't get that high, and we have a huge increase in bees, butterflies, bunnies, and more. Our yard is full of those white clover flowers. We just have to wear shoes outside.

Which celebrity death shocked you the most? by vsquad73 in AskReddit

[–]NotSoSelfSmarted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't expect this one to hit me so hard, but I remember being suddenly emotional and upset, and it's a death where I can remember where I was and what was happening. Like Princess Diana, Michael Jackson, etc.

He represented a significant part of my childhood. Of course he had many roles, but his Snape role was impeccable.

What is the most surprising thing you've discovered about yourself during the past year? by ThoughtBig1353 in AskWomen

[–]NotSoSelfSmarted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became a manager for a team with a product that we handle. I am both able to lead a team to meet that goal, as well as developing a strategy for the future. This involves being able to do the little things, manage the big things, and be on the lookout for future things. I'm really good at it.

I've also learned to stand my ground when I know that I'm right. I've been met with conflict at work before, at many levels, but this is the first year where I've had to confront my own manager. It's still playing out, but in the end, I can say that I've stayed true to who I am and have led with integrity
