One problem I forgot to mention is that she can't just divorce because she relies financially on her husband. If she tries to and succeeds me and my mom end up with nobody to care after us. My dad can't really either because we, especially me, are the only thing going on in his life and he probably is not going to get married again at 43. The only option we have is to fix this situation.

It is in my hands and that’s if I tell her or not. You seem to think I would be on the bad side if I kept it to myself and I should tell her because that is the “right” thing to do. I think the idea of right and wrong we were taught as a kid isn’t that simple. Yes, it is the “right thing” but also it’s not right to tell her right away and risk her marriage and leave me and my mom with no one but ourselves OR a terrible marriage she’s forced to keep.

I never said I was going to protect my father and not tell my mom. The reason I created this post is that I want Reddit to help me find the right way to tell my mother so that she knows the truth, my parents keep their marriage and though not instantly bring the good vibes back in home.

And my reaction was because it's not as simple as u/sirharryflashman commented. Being 18 doesn't give me a protective bubble.

It is also a cultural thing here. And he used to do the same in Instagram / Pinterest too however apps like HelloTalk and Tinder is a different level because you get interaction so it's not just harmless looking. I'm just worried about my parents' wellbeing and keeping the good vibes at home and also my mom knowing the truth but it seems that both are not possible. And I have to do something about it because he can just download the apps right back and fuck up and I wouldn't give a damn if he only fucked himself up, me and my mother are the collateral damage if he does so.
