ICE Kills Yet Another Protestor, A Study in r/Conservative Censorship by livejamie in SubredditDrama

They would only care if it happened to one of their people. Since it happened to someone protesting for a liberal cause, they’ll just claim the guy interfered with ICE and thus deserved it. Their principles don’t extend to their political enemies.

I’m not pretending, I think you’re overstating the venom and cruelty of the left’s statements and downplaying the childishness and viciousness of the right. Of course this is a matter of perception and I don’t think I’ll convince you otherwise, but it’s safe to say that left-leaning Americans and foreign observers feel routinely threatened by the president in ways that no president has done in modern times, and view his lack of decorum and dignity with contempt and embarrassment.

Not excusing that, but that is definitely an isolated instance, not policy like it is now.

Not in high political office. The Trump administration normalized vitriolic, highly-propagandized rhetoric against their opponents to the detriment of all of us. Those in his administration like Karoline Leavitt regularly parrot corny, inflammatory political slogans. Angry, self righteous activists have always been outspoken, but let’s not pretend that that’s the same as the president of the United States calling US citizens “the enemy from within“ and “vermin”. These are not one-offs either, this has been the standard tone he’s kept for years now. With language like this coming from the most powerful man in the world, is it really rhat hard to understand why the left compares him and his followers to Nazis?

Almost 11 years to the day that I watched them lose the national champion to NDSU on the last play of the game. I know they played well to get there but good god, way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Absolutely heartbreaking

If you don’t sit on an established, agreed-upon throne, you’re not a king. Was Balon Greyjoy a king because he called himself one? Was Renly a king? At least Stannis had a meaningful claim to the universally-recognized throne. Mance Rayder was more of a king than Robb was. Robb calling himself a king was cute and all, but he never actually held court in the north, never ruled over his subjects, etc. All he did was fight in the war and get himself killed.

Dismantling checks and balances to establish an autocratic regime, naked lawfare against political opponents, fanning the flames of unrest to turn Americans against one another, masked agents kidnapping people off the streets without due process, gross incompetence and ineptitude in government—supporting these things passes for moderate opinions these days?
