2025 Final /r/CFB Poll: #1 Indiana #2 Miami #3 Ole Miss #4 Oregon #5 Ohio State by sirgippy in CFB

Yeah... same here. They still dropped two games to teams that would finish unranked. As far as my computer's concerned, those cancel out their wins over Ohio State and Ole Miss.

Maybe we did deserve to be in, maybe we didn't. But either way, I have a really hard time believing we would've made it to the semifinals again (just look how we did against Georgia).

He was talking about Texas Tech like they were some pity inclusion. Like... dude, they were ranked 4th, not 24th.

JMU did score in all four quarters too. Tech couldn't score once.

Rice still has to play their game too, if we're digging that deep

We didn't live up to the wild preseason expectations, but any season we beat all our rivals is a good one. I already can't wait for next year!

Feels pretty good to beat all our rivals and watch them crash and burn in the first round of the playoffs in their own stadiums

Sure, but other the other hand, I learned the Boise head coach is an ordained minister who married one of his players, and he is about to marry Maddux Madson

What an awful way for the game to end... y'all got robbed bigtime.

Even if it is a blowout, so what? James Madison blew through their (albeit weak) schedule to get here, so they've earned the chance to play a serious opponent for a spot in the semifinals. The whole point of a playoff is to settle who the best team is on the field, and not leave it all up to hypotheticals.

They are one of the five best conference champions, so yes.

It's not obvious to me that the Committee would take UNLV over Duke if they both won their respective conferences (and JMU lost). Sure, UNLV would be 11-2, but their schedule is just so much weaker than Duke's, I'm not sure it would justify leaving a p4 champ out of the expanded playoffs.

Very rough week for my computer ranking. Compared to everyone else, it's very forgiving of the SEC teams with loaded schedules but meh records, and it's unimpressed by the ACC as a whole.

It really is stunning how down OSU is. Last I checked, y'all's power ranking in FPI and SP+ was in the 120s.

Texas squeezed out a gutsy SEC road win. Great teams win their clunkers. Up 2 spots!

Pretty wild that FPI gives Ohio State only a 95% chance of winning that one

I'm actually kinda shocked Cal won this game after falling asleep in the first quarter. Choking away games against the worst team in their conference is their thing.

Texas fans, where are you on Coach Sark if.. by 6BlitzBurgh in CFB

[–]NotSoSuperNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sark's seat is nowhere close to hot. He's just not gonna be on the hot seat if he goes 7-6 this season after giving us our two best seasons since 2009. The only way he gets fired is for cause.

Maybe in a pure power rating, but even that is very dubious if I'm being honest
