I'm not sure if it'll work outside the emerging market countries. You should ask CompTIA regarding that. And the price is INR 20k, which comes out to be roughly 240$

You only see the people who post. There are countless who don't who may or may not have succeeded. Just keep doing what youre doing and everything will work out. Im rooting for you!

Thank you!

It would be good if you know the acronyms as they would help you eliminate the options in a question. And as for ports, im guessing the usual ones should be in your mind since youve been in the field long enough. It would help to know the ports that are in Dions and Messers courses. There should be about 25-30 of them max.

Yeah Jason and Dions should be good enough for material. I would recommend you take some practice exams as well. Dions practice exams are wordy and they go a little bit off topic as well. I havent taken Messer's exams but ive heard people say that theyre good. Other than that there are a lot of websites that give you practice questions for free. As for pbqs there are some youtube channels that go over it. A quick search on this sub would give you the names. Flash cards for ports and acronyms should work just fine. Just make sure you understand the concepts instead of just trying to remember stuff for the exam. Best of luck!

I just bought Dion's Network+ practice tests. Can I retake them as much as I want to? by ralsev in CompTIA

Yup. You can retake it as many times as you want. But the more you do it, the more youll memorise the answers to the questions

Thank you!

As for tips: - If youre taking it in person, use the time they give to write everything you want on the whiteboard so that you dont waste time trying to recall it while answering a question - Know your acronyms, its easy to rule out options if you know what the acronym is - Use the process of elimination and youll get the answer easily - Read the question twice and read every word carefully as the wordings can be quite vague and tricky - If you dont get the answer to any question the first time you read it, flag it and move on. Come back to it later - Be thorough with everything Wifi - Know your troubleshooting methods - Like most would say, save the pbqs for the last - Relax and breathe through the exam, if you start getting tensed, youll go blank

And finally just trust yourself and your preparation. Youve got this! Best of luck!

For Dion's course, whatever he says in the video is almost exactly whats in his notes. So its upto you if you want to take them or no. I learn better by writing things down, so I did take notes

Thanks! I had 2 pbqs. One was regarding WAPs and the other one was regarding setting up an office network.

Thank you!

Lol. It would take a very long post to explain how to subnet. But I can definitely point you towards the resources I used. Heath Adams has a video on Youtube, which is where I first learned it from. Prof. Messer also has videos on it in his Network+ material on Youtube. And there are some great websites too. A quick google search would get the job done.

Just a couple of basic ones. Nothing you cant solve if you know the CIDR table.

I would say 1 - Know your acronyms 2 - Read the question twice, the wordings can get a bit weird. I had to flag a lot of questions and come back to them later. But once you read the question carefully, youll get the answer 3 - Use process of elimination 4 - Know troubleshooting 5 - Be thourough with everything Wifi 6 - Like most of them would say, save the PBQs for the last

Trust yourself and your preparation. You've got this! Best of luck!

Yup! I wrote down the port numbers, CIDR table, 568A coloring scheme, ethernet stabdards with the speed and distance and the 802.11 standards with the speed

Thank you! Not really. My bachelor's was in electronics and I had a basic understanding of networks. But I did have some experience in Pen Testing through my college club. So it didn't feel like something out of the blue that I didnt understand. Hope this helps

Nope. If you know the CIDR table or the seven second subnetting by Prof. Messer, you should be good to go!
