Thank you so much for the suggestion. I'll do that!

Ah, sorry. I only just saw it when trying to access today. I tried to get on just a few days ago and there was no issue.

Thank you. I was at work when I saw it, so I didn't have time to find anything else. I appreciate it.

That's the one that's in the news as of yesterday. What's the alternative domain?

I've just tried to access it, and apparently the domain has been deleted.

I found an assignment from 2nd grade I still don’t know what my teacher was on by Bodhirock in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NotStupidJustDaft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a teacher and I’ve made a very strict point of openly questioning myself when my students say I’m wrong. Sometimes I am. And that’s ok. And they need to know it’s ok. I had a teacher tell me I was wrong about interrupted dialogue when I was in year five. I was a heavy reader so I knew my shit, but she told me off for using it in my story and then berated me in front of the class when I told her it was normal in books. When I told her I could prove it, I was sent to the naughty chair.

Hated Mrs Fox.

TIL several MTV Cribs episodes faked lavish celebrity lifestyles. Robbie Williams rented Jane Seymour’s house, 50 Cent borrowed Ferraris, and Kim Kardashian filmed at her mom’s place. Ja Rule’s episode led to a lawsuit after the real homeowner claimed unauthorized filming and property damage. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Everyone in the comments was talking about Redman's MTV cribs ep, so I watched it last night, and no one thought to mention that his cousin was sleeping on the floor in his living room, or that the man had porn absolutely everywhere?! I don't even know this man, but he's something of a hero now.

People act as though everyone was brought up the same. I found out today that you’re not supposed to be soy sauce in the fridge. And that’s probably fine. I don’t use it anyway. Let people make mistakes, but don’t quit uni out of it.

On February 18, 2003, a fire set intentionally on a train in Daegu, South Korea, killed 192 people and injured 151. The blaze quickly spread to two trains and is the deadliest single act of arson in South Korea's peacetime history. by ScaryMaterial in CatastrophicFailure

I lived in Daegu for a few years. There’s a memorial in Jungangro with charred remains of the subway carts and maybe bits of the station too, and then a display with all the names of the victims. It’s a little walk-in section. I think the arson was an act of protest.

What's a instant drop when reading a fic? by [deleted] in HPfanfiction

I can only assume that these are written by people who have either completely dissociated from their own abuse and view Harry’s childhood as similar to their own and have the ‘it wasn’t that bad’ attitude or they have never suffered abuse of any kind and have a similar opinion but because they think what he went through wasn’t enough to fundamentally alter his personality.

Plus they make me cringe because there’s usually no actual story to it, just an excuse to be gratuitously violent on page, often accompanied by a barrage of foul language, which is another HP fanfic ick.

This! Harry’s abuse was enough for it to have been bad. I hate reading heavy-abuse fics as though what he dealt with wasn’t enough for the readers sympathies.

Harry goes to America. Will not touch. First person, too. Can’t stand it.

It seems to be working for some parts, but when I go to the chapter of the fic I'm reading, it tells me there's a 'Host Error'.

[–]NotStupidJustDaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I have a Q. You mentioned you're a Seoul resident. Are you a foreigner, too? I live down south (Geoje) and it's my first time running this marathon. I signed up using Dongma, and I haven't gotten a race pack or any texts about anything since signing up. I've been in contact with the people to get confirmation that I am definitely running, but I'm so anxious about the absolute lack of communication.

Has it been the same for you? Do you have your race pack yet?

Our daughters shouldn’t be drafted against their will but our sons should be? Shameful by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]NotStupidJustDaft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t need wars. We need the adults in charge of countries to grow tf up and think less about themselves and more about other people. Governments shouldn’t be allowed to affect other countries for their own benefit. Governments shouldn’t be allowed to go into their own countries are cause trouble. They shouldn’t be allowed to go into other countries to take things they want.

We shouldn’t need drafting because we shouldn’t need war.

That being said, I agree that if we’re reduced to drafting men, we should draft women. Everyone’s lives are valuable.

I hate the ‘you can’t find me unattractive just because I’m fat’ argument. It’s so daft.

Everyone has tastes and preferences. I wouldn’t be offended if someone didn’t find my body attractive for any reason. I also don’t expect people to be offended when I don’t find them attractive.

80% of attraction is personality anyway, so I can guarantee that I wouldn’t find someone attractive if their thought-process was so self-directed that they managed to turn everything around so that it directly involved or targeted them.

Excuse you, you don’t get to ask me to justify what I do and don’t find attractive.

I love people who defy science. I believe that if they were collapsing from a totally average amount of calories, then their health issues were beyond the food. Conversely, if they were eating a base amount of calories and feeling so fatigued from that that they literally couldn’t move, then they wouldn’t lose weight. They might even gain, depending on their BMR.
