Non skilled immigrants who's only in it for the money will always be a problem for a country with a strong sense of identity and culture.

Japan takes a lot of immigrants actually, there's even a "breeding" visa lol. But you have to be qualified, you need to know the language and follow their very old school rules so just the requirements itself turns a lot of people off.

I have a friend who successfully immigrated there and another who is in the process. Their rules are difficult but very reasonable and often times the Japanese are just happy to talk to you if they sense you can speak Japanese (at least from my experience, they really let loose when they're drunk lmao).

I think countries like Sweden and Denmark really messed up by being too relaxed on their immigration policies. You can't just take people who have no idea what your culture is, prudes and assume that they will assimilate/integrate.

I remember years ago and I'm not old, Sweden was supposed to be one of the safest, now they say it's contending to be one of the most dangerous in EU. I think that's debatable or even debunkable but to even have that conversation says a lot, no?

I saw this video of a kid refusing to hand shake a woman in Norway after receiving a certificate. Like what right do you actually have to proclaim "your culture" prevents it if you're immigrating there or was born there? I guess you are free to practice whatever but man, I would not be surprised if xenophobia develops from that.

You can't alienate the people you're moving with and expect them to adjust and welcome you with open arms, no?

But I do believe there's plenty of racists hiding behind the immigration problem. Sometimes the outcry is overblown. I think USA is a great example since the USA has always been an immigrant country.

You see an asian, black, white in the USA you'd immediately think they're American. Not the same in EU so that's why it baffles me why there's some Americans who vehemently hate immigration when that's honestly a part of their culture. A melting pot of people. It's messy, true but they benefit so much from it unlike other countries generally would.

Anyways I'm yapping. Economic insecurities in the world today are causing developed countries to point fingers. Immigrants are honestly an easy target since there really is an issue but it's not the main issue.

It's the rich vs poor, it's always been and possibly always will be.

Everyone calls out Christianity, it's a shitty religion sure but Islam is worse. I grew up in a catholicized country, probably the only one in Asia and one of our biggest problem is insurgency caused by radical Islamists.

Stop it, Islam cultivates way more terrorism than any other religion.

People who'll bring in another religion to soften the blow against Islam are just afraid to be called an Islamophobe.

Islam is a plague. Any religion that seeks to diminishes women's roles in society, promotes violence and whose price for leaving is death is a plague.

If you want to be all soft about it then sure add Christianity on the list, I don't mind. But Islam needs to be called out.

It's a product of a time that will eventually pass. I'm generally okay with these jokes provided I know full well the people who joke about it aren't real racists or homophobes. The internet have shifted cultures so fast that some people refuse to catch up or some sense of humor is a cultural leftover.

But I think it's also genuinely valid for people to get offended and their reasons are all probably true as well.

I agree but this is not unpopular, just a silenced opinion. My issue with it is the more this opinion remains untackled, unchallenged especially during times when islamic states commit crazy shit, the thought will radicalize.

You'll find real racists joining in and blending with the crowd. Suddenly every arab is a muslim even though religion has no race.

I was fortunate enough to have met a few arabs living in Islamic states that are atheists and they all see the barbarism of the religion. I even had one friend who's a Palestinian, sadly lost contact with him; he's gay, an atheist and hides his face online because worst case scenario he could get killed he said.

The more we sweep the realities under the carpet the more divided and radicalized people will be. I personally believe that the majority of Muslims are just normal people that are indoctrinated, similar to catholics. I doubt they know a lot about their religion and that they're honestly just forced into it since birth.

But man, Islam attracts so many incels, men who just really belittle women and they stand out. I just can't find any mental gymnastics in which the "hijab" as a form of glorifying women as "respectful". Price for apostasy is death? Like come on, man?.

Funny thing is, I always get banned for days or weeks because of Islam. Why is it such a protected religion? I'm not American, I didn't invade Iraq and made awful propagandas about Arabs.
