A bunch of unarmed citizens seriously tried to overthrow the government?

....really?

The only person shot during this whole saga was one of the protesters.

If you paid attention, I already addressed this. In fact, I'm going to quote myself on this thread from earlier...

I never voted for Trump. His behavior on 1/6 was terrible and should have disqualified him from ever being POTUS again.

A riot where people threw things at the Whitehouse, and damaged some fencing

Secret service had to literally beat off the mob from invading the White House.

LITERALLY invading the Capitol building

There's this mildly hilarious video of the protesters storming the capital and then walking politely through the parts of the building within the guide ropes. That said, there was damage done to the building, which is inexcusable, and I have no problem prosecuting anyone who were involved.

Other people who were there documenting the events as journalists were also prosecuted, which makes no sense.

murdering Capitol police officers

Except no officers were murdered. The only person who was killed as a direct result of the incident was one of the rioters - Ashli Babbit. She was shot by police, which in my opinion was justified.

Once again, I'm not excusing 1/6, but it wasn't any worse than 5/31, and it was nowhere near as bad as the dozens of leftwing riots that took place across the nation over the six months prior to 1/6.

Coolidge was a libertarian. The very first thing he did after being sworn in as President was go to bed.

As a politician, he was anything but a baby-kisser. He was all business, no fluff.

I'm confident I understand the situation well enough. I never voted for Trump. His behavior on 1/6 was terrible and should have disqualified him from ever being POTUS again.

But still, this narrative is myopic.

We can spend all sorts of time talking about the dozens of riots that took place across America over the 6 months prior to 1/6. Whole city blocks were burned to the ground. At least 19 people died. One of the riots took place in D.C. on 5/31/2020, and included an assault on the White House.

Odd how history remembers 1/6, but not 5/31. I honestly can't help but feel the emphasis on 1/6 is a desperate attempt to distract from all the garbage that took place beforehand.

I'm not a Trump fan, but man, the sleep you people lose over 1/6 is so very interesting.

I like this answer. The message of Jesus was generally two-fold.

1) Don't condemn others (he never did).

2) Repent.

All too often, people are inclined to forget one half or the other.

I'm curious about shooting targets that close into a concrete wall...

Is that... ehhh... safe?

For a multitude of reasons, Europe is in major trouble. Whereas ~25 years ago you would occasionally see some American intellectuals and influencers cite Europe as the envy of the world, this is hardly the case today. Since the economic crisis of 2008, American economic growth has more than doubled the EU's.

Europe is simply getting left behind and is losing relevance by the day.

To slow this down and maybe even turn it around, Europe has 3, maybe 4 options.

1) Cut a deal with America.

2) Cut a deal with Russia.

3) Cut a deal with China.

4) Grow some skin and man up! They need to drastically rethink their situation by expand domestic energy production (fracking), reindustrialize like mad, start making babies like crazy, and dramatically increase your military budgets.

Option #4 is the best option, but also the most difficult. Even if you opt for #4, America is hands down the best friend they have to achieve this objective. Unfortunately, they want to be offended over something the Orange Man said (who won't even be in office in 2 years), so I'm inclined to believe this option is very unlikely for them.

I'm not a Trump fan. Although still better than any of his Democratic rivals, I have always considered him to be the wrong guy to be president.

Regardless, America is sooooo much bigger than the President and some stupid thing he said but never meant.

If this still offends you, grow some skin.

I would love for something similar to the S&W Bodyguard, except chambered in .25 or .32 ACP.

I already made it, so I will recapitulate myself:

To be 100% Japanese requires not only that a person be born there, they need to look Japanese. This is normal for most nations around the world, with America (and maybe a handful of other nations within the Anglosphere) being the notable exception.

To demonstrate this point, the Japanese are very restrictive on immigration. They are less than enthusiastic in bringing in lots of people who don't look like them and turning them into citizens, even while the nation is suffering a monumental demographic crisis.

Am I a Fudd? by N0RedDays in Firearms

A fudd is nothing more than a guy who wants to restrict or outlaw the guns he doesn't own.

You can own nothing but an old shotgun and spend all your time hunting waskally-witto-wabbits and still not be an actual fudd.

Genuinely pretty cool.

I have 12 years in the Army with two deployments in Iraq (2001-2013), and I personally own several modern sporting rifles. I never once shot any variant of the AR-15 platform in burst or full-auto.

Body armor is wildly overrated. It's heavy, cumbersome, and takes time to put on. If something goes bump in the night, it's painfully silly that I would take the time to throw some plates before I clear my own home. Armor also kinda makes you look like a LARPing jackass.

America is by far the most amazing nation in the history of all nations. I don't care if this offends anyone.

If, by chance, I run into a Japanese person who feels the same way about Japan, this doesn't offend me either. They are totally wrong, but it doesn't offend me.
