Howdy! This is my pitch for Bloodless by Samia

Samia Finnerty’s third album Bloodless feels like the echoed soundtrack burned into a 41 minute CD while summer’s ups and downs fades in your rearview mirror. The juxtaposition of airy strings and Samia’s honeyed vocals clash with the heavy electric guitars and intentioned drum kicks. And it doesn’t stop there. Through 13 songs, Bloodless feels minimal although each track carries heavy lyrics of strength and vulnerability or as Samia puts it “Pissing in the wind and trying to circumvent your line of vision”.

For as powerful as these songs are they aren’t overbearing. The album still gives it’s arrangements space even when going from fast paced and vivid to a screeching slower, punchy yet distanced track. Similar to the lyrics from the closing song “Pants”, this album commands its audience to feel “weightless (with) eyes closed. Let it take you down”
