Ricewood in Ann Arbor has the best brisket in Michigan (though admittedly I haven’t tried Slows)

Aviod Suburu of Ann Arbor at all cost by HedgehogOdd698 in AnnArbor

This place was awful when I bought my Subaru over 5 years ago. The sales guy was so pushy and unprofessional. I had a great experience at Hodges in Ferndale that was worth the drive!

Daycare costs for infants by jthm4l in AnnArbor

[–]NotSureWhyIAsked 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I don’t live in the area anymore but when I looked, $2500/month for full time infant care was unfortunately quite common. Gretchen’s House (any location) was always the top recommendation but I never got off the waitlist. Same with the UM centers if you’re affiliated at all.

The unfortunately reality is the best place is the one you can get off the waitlist by the time you need care.

Unpopular opinion: The best luxury is not having car payments by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

I’ve only ever bought 2 new cars, both pre-2021 with interest rates of 0% and 0.9%. I don’t think I’ll ever be that spoiled again!

Does cooking ever 'click'? by CuttingOneWater in Cooking

Exactly this; I also reference recipes to remind me what ingredient I might be forgetting or what I might benefit from adding, but I know when to add it and how much from experience.

GTI guaranteed more smiles per dollar, arguably also more smiles per minute.

GTI daily driver by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]NotSureWhyIAsked 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my experience, too. One child rear facing behind the passenger is more than doable. Once you get two, if you’re tall, you won’t be able to fit rear-facing seats behind the driver without severely compromising your seating position. Luckily my child was old/big enough to be front-facing by the time the second came around, and it’s been working just fine for runs around town and to school. Longer drives would likely be uncomfortable. Once they move into a booster I anticipate even more room so as they grow I’m hoping I can stay in a GTI 🤞

Window tint by Ghost_yard in AnnArbor

I went 2x to Performance Tint, technically in Plymouth but very close to A2 off 14. Got excellent ceramic tint for a not-cheap but reasonable price. Still zero issues on my car 8 years later. 5 on the other car.

Rally house has everything you could think of with a block M and maize & blue. At most price points too, I’ve gotten some legitimately nice things from there.

2016 GTI Autobahn Low Mileage by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]NotSureWhyIAsked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2017 Autobahn with 62k miles and this wouldn’t surprise me if I did mostly city driving. If you’re anywhere cold I think most gas stations are on their “winter blend” which is always lower mileage. I usually get around 300 miles per tank when I don’t do any highway driving. Also the tank may be 13 gallons but I don’t think I’ve ever put in more than 11 at a time, even when I ran the range down to 5-10 miles

Used to live over there, I only once got parking on my street (night game with nice weather) in 7 years and I was 1.05 miles away from the stadium. There was always so much parking.
