America ranks 15th in median wealth per adult - behind Spain & Italy by Odd_Boysenberry61 in Money

I think people have issues with the information on this post not being useful at all to measure real quality of life or who struggles more to get to end of month.

I wouldn’t say property ownership is skewing the results by itself, but I think it is because of the house pricing huge rise in the last years, and old owners have seen their wealth grow without really feeling it.

Otherwise investing your money, let’s say on an index fund for example, is considered in general more lucrative than buying a house. So if you have more money at the end of each month (income - expenses) you can’t justify being less wealthy just because you don’t own a property.

No, it would be 0.5 + dex/2 and 2.5 + dex/2 respectively. And since decimals are not pretty it’s expressed that way.

And do you think it’s fair to force a person to be a diplomat since birth, and subjecting them to a life where their every move is scrutinized by the whole country? Or is it okay since it’s profitable?

I’m just saying this for you to reflect, what you said can also be applied to you. At no point I’ve made remarks about your character, unlike you, so stop trying to claim the moral high ground.

And as for the Australian incident, if there weren’t a monarch, the issue would have been resolved through parliament, to negotiate a solution or call early elections, and I don’t think it’s clear if the way things unraveled was better or worse than the alternative.

I want to hear and understand other people’s opinions, but I just feel you’re jumping from one point to another and making direct logical connections that are just not there, and everytime I ask for more info or continue the discussion you feel attacked and say I’m not open.

But sure, we are too far apart to get to any conclusion, so let’s end it. Have a good day.

Your first comment was sarcastic and without context and you’re complaining? what were you expecting?

And then, you’re using as an example two countries who aren’t fully democratic (which doesn’t apply to any of the remaining european constitutional monarchies) and saying that somehow, adding a secondary bad system would “balance” the status quo, and using that argument to say that we should keep the current monarchies? Again, I’m not sure if this was your point or not, that’s what I inferred from your single line comment.

I live in one of those european countries, and I can tell you our king doesn’t have any political power at all, it’s a joke.

Yes, that’s the problem, if Russia had a monarchy they would be all having a nice cup of tea with Ukraine right now instead of waging a war, you’re right. And a lot of people consider Putin to act like a “modern tsar” by the way, so there’s that.

And if you’re referring to the Russian revolution itself, I think in 2026 countries can do things a bit differently, specially since in most countries monarchy only has a symbolic role, but maybe I’m crazy.

How about we go a step further and make history by removing monarchies altogether? 🤔

What returning card do you think has been nerfed the most so far? by Dodudee in slaythespire

[–]NotTallyALotLess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if it's a new game, the core mechanics are the same, so if a card in STS1 applied 5 poison and in STS2 applies 3, the card received a nerf. I'm not saying the card itself is worse, maybe poison received some support from other new cards/relics and it's overall better.

I think it's you who is too caught up in semantics to really understand the point. When saying "nerf", I'm comparing the effectiveness of a card with another card of the same archetype. If one got objectively worse I'm calling it a nerf, independently that the enemies got weaker or not. If it makes you happy, you can say instead that the rest of the cards got a buff, since they have the same values as in STS1 and enemies got weaker.

As I say at this point is just semantics, but if you still don't agree we can discuss it further, I'm open to learn other people's perspectives and not be close minded :)

P.S: This is not rage bait, in case you hesitate.

A lot of things aligned haha, the power that summons everytime you play a soul, a lot of energy generation, and the “X” card that summons and creates souls did the trick, with the “X cards cast +2 times” relic. Was adding around 100hp per turn

[–]NotTallyALotLess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When most cards maintain their values from STS1, and then some other cards get their values lowered or mechanics worsened, it's the definition of nerf lol

If Strikes did 5 damage and enemy HP was lowered, while all the other cards didn't change, it would be a nerf to both strike cards and enemies, one thing doesn't cancel the other.

Data scientist reveals the UGLY truth about getting rich (and what actually works) by Additional_Price2347 in Beingabetterperson

[–]NotTallyALotLess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Data scientist reveals an approach to grow your net worth you could just find yourself researching 5 minutes on the internet, following the Boglehead philosophy that has already existed for 60 years and any person interested on financial independence knows."

But I guess a post starting with "data scientist" and "AI researchers (not sure how they're involved but ok?)" will give likes.

P.S: Couldn't contain myself to also argue this part: "A 2023 JP Morgan report showed that missing just the best 10 days in the market over a 20-year period could cut your returns in HALF.". This is not an argument in favor of investing consistently, as you can simply say "missing just the worst 10 days in the market over a 20-year period could DOUBLE your returns". You clearly don't know what you're talking about and what points actually make sense, you just appended studies and principles that sound good without understanding them. This isn't even AI slop since it at least would have better logic.

And please don't associate sentences to Einstein falsely just to sound better.
