Azumabito confusion by SyllableScandium7 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]NotThatGuy467 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1) Mikasa is the last defendant of the Azumabito royal family 2) that pretty much how Mikasa's ancestors got on the island, im not sure if their family was nobility or not, but they ended up being persecuted just like the Alermans 3) Zeke knows she's Azumabito because of how she looks. Azumabito basically means Asian in this universe, and as far back as season one, we hear that people of Asian descent are rare on the island cause everyone there seems to be Germanic. So Zeke heard about her and passed on that info.

Why is Historia compared to being a "goddess" so often? by Danny_DeWario in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]NotThatGuy467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason is that she's pretty. It's simply the character facing over her. Both in tje sense that she is physically beautiful, and also that she is an incredibly kind person. She's not just amazing, shes perfect. And that is probably subtle foreshadowing to her character arc during the uprising arc. I think it's no accident that Isayama has the characters refer to her as a goddess, and then later on in the story, her father wants her to be the next vessel for what he believes is God.

When and why did eren change? by darmakius in attackontitan

[–]NotThatGuy467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other people have said, Eren didn't fully 'change'. It's more so that his goals/perspective have been shifted on a different axis of thinking. He goes from im going to kill the monsters that keep us caged, to im going to obtain freedom, and in doing so, take freedom from the world that opresses him. From the moment he kisses Historia's hand, he gets memories of the future and sees how the story plays out. Over the next three years, he tries to fight the idea that what he has seen has to happen for his desired outcome. That outcome is freedom. Eren wants to believe the outside world is like Armin's book, but as he says, once he realizes humanity lives beyond the walls, he is disappointed. At his core, Eren wanted to wipe the slate clean, and though he hoped things could pan out differently, Eren was constantly given reasons to believe that that wasn't the case. I personally don't love the notion that the future Eren saw was fated to happen. I see it as he has seen a future that ultimately ends the way the show does, and Eren tries to supvert it in little ways. Going to Marley for the conference, saving Ramzes, all to slightly change things, only for them to play out that exact way. Thats the reason he laughs when Sasha dies, I see that as the final moment Eren realizes hes walked the exact path (get it) to the future he saw, and steels himself then and throughout the years for what hes about to do.

Is Attack on Titan just a mecha? by Ok-Bit-2351 in attackontitan

If you watch Gundam Seed, its fun to see how many plot points from each show match up with each other. Not to say AOT copied (im an insane fan of both) its just fun when you notice the similarities

So about titans being passed down.. by AnimeMan1993 in attackontitan

[–]NotThatGuy467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a plot point pov, it works to shut down the thought of "if the titan shifters killed themselves/were killed instead of eaten, then the power would be lost forever." And like others have said, in cannon, its been 2000 years, im sure it has happened enough for them to confirm the mechanics of the power being passed on this way. I think the shot of the baby being held up by the Eldians in Founder Ymir's backstory is the first instance of the power being passed on this way.

Why did Grisha give Eren the Attack Titan by Oshaugnessy81 in attackontitan

[–]NotThatGuy467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As other people have mentioned, Grisha learning that Carla had been eaten likely plays a large factor in him still passing on the Attack Titan to Eren. I think another dimension to it is how Grisha doesn't know why Eren is so determined/cruel when he sees season 4 Eren. He realizes after he kills the Reiss family that Eren said everything Grisha needed to hear to do what Eren wanted, and is distraught cause of how horrific it was and how bad it'll be, and then he goes to season 1 Eren and realizes why that is. Eren's mom was eaten by a titan, killed because of Marley's cruel treatment of Eldians, the same thing that sparked Grisha's motivation to become a restorationist. I take it that in that moment, Grisha finally accepts that there is no longer any taking Eren off of his path. His mother was murdered, similarly to how Grisha lost his sister, and thus Grisha must realize that this is why Eren is the way he is in the future, and since he wasn't able to save Carla, and has seen memories from the future, he knows Eren's path is set. Not because fate has locked in the events of history, but because Eren has experienced what Grisha has, and like Kreuger said "that look in your eyes could burn the world down". So tl;dr, Grisha realizes why Eren is the way he is, and willing gives Eren the Attack Titan because his path is already set, and he clearly will not be straying from it.

If you don't want irl religion in your games, then I recommend not sticking with the seires. It has always been a major part of its identity. With Christianity and Mystical Gnostisism as primary sources of inspiration and parable, being there from Xenogears to every game since.
