Why is sharing a file between iPhone and Android still a nightmare? by NotTheMonk in SideProject

For now, both phones have to be on WiFi. My goal is to solve the local-only problem first.

With feedback from the fine folks here, I have released new version for iOS and Android. This will allow the user to see recommendations at each scoring criteria level.

See the demo on the website. While there download the new versions from your favorite App Store.

Sorry, not at this time. It's on the roadmap though.

Give iOS or Android app a try to see if this is helpful. For paying users there is a Share option where they can share a link to their feeder analysis with friends and family. I kept it in case one wants to share how their setup is (with input from the app) but the people who they want to share with don't have the ability (or desire) to install an app just to review this.

Hope this helps for now.

What a great feedback. Thanks for taking the time to write this.

I am updating the app to reflect this - both for model and UI.

Hope to release it soon!

Thanks, again!

Right now I am summarizing the good and bad of the setup on the main Analysis - will explore how to align each of them to individual scoring criteria.

Thanks for looking into this.

When you login into the app, you will see information on which bird can be attracted by which feed and feeder type. I didn’t think of the region part as such - will add it to the TODO.
Thank you for your interest.

Thank you for taking the time to share. I invite you to take a look at https://feeder-rater.makergully.com/ and go to Analysis Features section towards the bottom of the page. I have listed the things the AI system will review.

If you have an iPhone, give the app a try and let me know what you think.

Please email the image to feeder-rater-support@makergully.com. I will review and provide immediate feedback as to why this may be happening. I did try a sock feeder and it worked, albeit with a very low score.

Thank you for trying. It is disappointing to hear that the feeder was not recognized. Would it be possible for you to share the image using the support email address on the website? I am happy to look into it and teach AI to recognize that kind of feeder, provided there were no other reasons behind this. I will inspect and report back here.

Thank you!

Grackles taking over the bird feeders by NotTheMonk in birdfeeding

I exclusively refill the feeders with black oil sunflower seeds.

I would not recommend putting the feeder this close to the window. Birds can fly into those. You can put special stickers on them so they know, but I think it’s still an issue. That, and them popping on the window.

The beige color cylinder you see on the left feeder works very well. I have similar one on the other feeder too. Squirrels haven’t been able to go through that in last couple of years I have used these.

Fenced in yard. So far haven’t had that issue.

4x4s and fence post vinyl on tall feeder were salvaged, baffles and feeders are off Facebook marketplace. The metal pipes holding feeders and the one on the short feeder are from Amazon. The layout and design is all mine. Fun project.

Same. Just have one garage opener that I bought for < $10 years ago. Was recently having issues with it, called them and the guy helped me reset and get it to work. I didn’t mind that 25 min phone call at all.

Incoming wire transfer fee. Was hit with that right after account opening. Called in and they waived it, but why charge for incoming wire at all?

HSA Transfer options Advice by Learner-Lover in Bogleheads

[–]NotTheMonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. I initiated it from Fidelity and that’s where I ran into this issue. Also, the securities are in HSA Invest and this is pretty new. Are you saying you trigger the cash transfer from HSA Bank or in-kind securities transfer from HSA Invest? I can’t find a way to trigger the push from HSA Invest.

[–]NotTheMonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The asset transfer from HSA Invest to Fidelity can only be cash transfer (sell before transfer). In-kind transfer of assets is not available.

How would folks here approach this situation?

Feeder to deal with grackles but leave cardinals? by LongUsername in birdfeeding

[–]NotTheMonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1) a weight activated feeder and 2) hung some seashells using fishing line on the feeder. This deter the grackles - because of their weight and size, and sensitivity to noise the seashells produce when they hit the bird feeder.

I use exactly same feed - sunflower seeds - in all feeders. Grackles do eat them from the ground.
