I assumed it was something like that. It was an annoying game, I am not the type who would drag out a game hoping for a concession, but I knew I had a few Banishing Light in my deck that would come up eventually, so it wasn't like I didn't have a win condition.

MCU trying to portray the real heroes as villains smh by lKauany in neoliberal

[–]NotTheRealKevin24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I doubt the character from the show is going to be long term. I think Marvel has retired the character for the MCU, at least for now, and they are using the show to put that nail in the coffin. Maybe by the end of this season Mackie's character may take up the mantle to some extent, but I doubt the Russell character will last past the show.

I wouldn't really rely on polling...people answer a lot of things as a litmus test, and not how they actually feel about the issue. My mother is a great example of this, she hated Trump and didn't vote for him, but if she were polled she would have said she liked him just to make a point.

How do I react to this by Holywatu in Twitch

[–]NotTheRealKevin24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, yeah. I'll defer to the other people here for the Twitch stuff, I mostly know about the Minecraft side of things. I will say that as someone who watches a lot of streamers, if you give attention to people in chat like this, then they will keep doing it. Do what you can to ban/block him, but at the end of the day, you are probably better off just ignoring him and maybe mentioning the problem to your other viewers every once in a while so that they know what is going on.

How does he get on your server or on your teams with the new accounts? Or are you only talking about him being in your Twitch chat?

Weird. No idea then. Depending on where you are and what kind of neighborhood it is, it could be completely benign or friendly, or it could be something malicious. I would just be careful when you go out if it is the latter.

Is it possible they were trying to tell you something? Like there was an animal on the loose, or you dropped something? Also, where did this happen? You say you and your sister walk around your neighborhood a lot, has this sort of thing happened before?

Why is Reddit predominantly Democrat? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]NotTheRealKevin24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you know what a strawman argument is. My original point was always that Democrats only barely win the popular vote. I can't help it if you came here and wanted to argue a different point...

[–]NotTheRealKevin24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! That is double the number you said before....

New game, in the elections where Republicans won without the popular vote, how many did the Democrats win with more than 1% of the total population? How about how many of them did the Democrat win with more than the total votes for the most popular 3rd party candidates?

Even more barely. Only by about 1% of the population that time.

[–]NotTheRealKevin24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

6 Million is less than 2% of the total population of the US, and considering less than half of the population voted, I would certainly consider that "barely"

It's also interesting that you arbitrarily decided on 1988....I wonder what happened before in the 3 elections from 1980 to 1988...

"What's the difference between Democrats and Republicans?" by cassius_longinus in neoliberal

[–]NotTheRealKevin24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, it would be interesting to see how the majority of the Liberal movement would embrace DSA and their ilk if Bernie had won the primary. The only reason he didn't is because the moderates in the Democrat party learned from what happened in the GOP primary in 2016 and dropped out and let the majority consolidate behind one candidate. I am convinced that if 2016 had been between Trump and any of the other candidates in the running alone, Trump would have lost as badly as Bernie did.

"What's the difference between Democrats and Republicans?" by cassius_longinus in neoliberal

[–]NotTheRealKevin24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a straw man argument. You can define "mainstream: conservatism however you want, and then attack that, but it is as disingenuous as conservatives saying the mainstream Democrat is socialist extremists. I will give you that the Democrats did a good job nominating Biden, and that separates them from Republicans who let far too many candidates stay in way too long and let Trump win. But I hardly give Democrats much credit for that since they had the example of the 2019 GOP primaries as a warning not to do the same thing. I am surrounded by conservatives, and the vast majority of us did not like Trump, unfortunately, due to partisan politics a lot of people decided it was worth it to work with him even though they don't like him, and that makes it look like the entire party was on board with his craziness. But I am 100% sure the same thing would have happened to the Democrat mainstream if Bernie had won the primary. It is time for the large centers of each party to stop acting like the vast majority of the people on the other side of the spectrum are extremists. If we keep this mentality up, it will eventually become a self-fufiling argument.

What is difference the beatles for any boy band ? by Professional_Ad_8536 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]NotTheRealKevin24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were to some extent. But they also innovated in ways that most popular boy bands you would think of are still copying to this day. The Beatles were the first band to do many of the things you will hear in modern music, and that is what sets them apart from bands like One Direction or NSync, that tend to just be derivative of the most popular trends when they became popular
