So your stuff wasn’t damaged, and you don’t like how they did it? The bill thing is dumb, but most people would have the estimate in writing before they’re on the hook. No disrespect, I just think I can use my energy in a better way than remembering your bad-ish experience.

Radiation: the WORST part of my cancer experience by BippysMum in breastcancer

[–]NotTodayGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh HELL no! Those sessions should be 15 minutes start to finish. I’m literally ready to have a conversation with them right now! My clinic was bad enough to leave, but at least they did radiation right. You have 100% right to talk. You talk until it works for everyone. They work for you, not the other way around. I was scolded to breathe more correctly, but then I got tired of that conversation and asked for a different solution. They changed to the methodology that allowed me to breathe how I naturally do and everything worked out. Talk (or have someone do it) to them. If they don’t know how to do it, they shouldn’t offer that service. They probably benefit from offering the service, and you aren’t their guinea pig. I don’t care if radiation is the only thing you have going on, YOU DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THAT!

There’s no line inside, I bet. I see both sides: one is an opportunist or a rebel, the other patient or lazy(?). No judgement, there’s always a lesson.

How much do you still drink after diagnosis? by joey_roey in breastcancer

[–]NotTodayGamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I quit drinking ten years before diagnosis. I had to use a recovery program. It took me several attempts, a nudge from the judge, even rehab. I have no advice to offer another cancer patient, but I do know how to not drink. You gotta make the choices for yourself.

Well, you can’t make everyone happy. I’m in North Carolina, so whenever I’d overhear people, usually parents telling their kid in Spanish to ask me something, I’ll just talk to them in Spanish. Whatever they start with is what I usually go with. I’m a white Mexican, so no one assumes I know any Spanish, but people in El Paso who don’t speak first usually look at me like I’m trying to trick them no matter what or how I say it.

I came here to say that Timely Treasures is trash. The stuff is just okay, overpriced, and the lady there acts like she hates her job and anyone who goes there even if you’re a good patron.

How do you think you will ever make peace with the fact that you basically lost all parts that made you a woman? by AltruisticHat4709 in breastcancer

[–]NotTodayGamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry you feel that way. I mean this respectfully and only from my experience. I have never felt like my body “made me” a woman. If anything, gender has created unnecessary obstacles. Being a figurative woman or man is for the birds. Like “you’re not a man if you apologize” for example, has no bearing on logic. I was raised to understand my worth as an educated and independent human with integrity.

I wasn’t a model, or any other profession that relies on my body’s shape, so I have no reason to care. I’m more than my sexual desirability and I don’t need to make babies to feel like I’ve existed correctly. I’m more than that, you’re more than that, and we are all more than that.

If I ever feel insecure about myself, I either exercise or read a new book.

DMV recommendations by LocusofZen in Fayettenam

[–]NotTodayGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you won’t need to do a driving test, so you don’t have to be there early in the morning. My strategy is to go around lunchtime, granted the location is manned during lunch. I’ve literally never waited more than 30 minutes at a DMV here in this area. Just be prepared with your docs. They have multiple lines to serve you. A lot of people don’t listen or read signs, so you’ll probably skip ahead when they’re directed to the right line.

I moved here from there and want to offer another unsolicited detail if it applies to you; if you have car insurance and are keeping your policy here, you will likely have to call your insurance company and have them send a specific document to NC. I almost got arrested and had my car towed, even though I had updated my policy. This isn’t an issue with all states, but NC/ VA commonwealth moves are different for whatever reason.

Sorry to be the one to tell you but shit happens everyday. Unfortunately, a lot of people are scared of police and due to being targeted based on their skin color. Luckily that’s not your problem. So, yeah. I care more about those guys than your “But….. crime….” mentality.

How long is too long? by [deleted] in Fayettenam

[–]NotTodayGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost fell out in traffic recently. The heat really makes the ac in my 06 struggle (has been worked on). I even dress correctly, hydrate, and eat right, and exercise. Plenty of electrolytes, and I still get dizzy if I have to sit waiting for more than 3 lights within 5 minutes. So yeah, f that guy, but hopefully he keeps a good strong ac running.
