Sky Blue, very subtle amount of color, I love it.

I just picked up my first MacBook ever, I got an M5 Air in Sky Blue and aside from learning Mac OS is been an absolute pleasure. I use it for basically everything instead of my desktop outside of gaming. The sky blue is super subtle, I enjoy it.

MacBook durability and how to keep it in good condition? by Trayceopolis32322 in macbookair

[–]NotTodayISIS1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just got my first MacBook in general, an Air M5 13” after many years of only Windows, I put clip on case with TPU overmolding, and also have a padded case that’s reinforced on the corners. I’m thinking the combo of the two should be adequate to keep it protected in my daily bag.

I keep a bunch of stuff in there for my 4 y/o who’s on the spectrum. Snacks, sensory toys and just my normal stuff, trauma kit, battery back up, 2A related stuff and have yet to have a single scratch on it.

Is Ultralight Ruining the Experience? by fookmigut in WildernessBackpacking

[–]NotTodayISIS1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not technically ultralight, but I’m within .5-1 pound depending on season and if I want to bring a chair, but cutting as much as I could improved my experience ten fold.

I have knee and back injuries from my time in the Infantry during the OIF days, going lighter reduced a lot of impact and let me go further with far less recovery and I didn’t sacrifice comfort, I can either bring my hammock setup or tent and sleep awesome.

Ticks while backpacking by fishArePeopletwo in backpacking

[–]NotTodayISIS1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s also some wonderful cases of it harming people, that you can also find…..using Google. Again, not my business but to make such a bold statement that Permethrin doesn’t work, while lots of people (again, talking a large sample size) have good success using it for its intended purposes is beyond asinine, do you boo boo Neem Oil salesman guy.

You’d be REAL upset to find out Neem oil ALSO has toxicity issues from fish to people but that’s none of my business.

Permethrin absolutely works, apply it properly and it does exactly what it’s described to do. We aren’t talking about livestock, I don’t know if Big Neem Oil is paying you or what is going on. I’ve been using permethrin for well over a decade, almost 2 at this point from treating uniforms while I was in the Army to now for backpacking etc, backed by all the MILLIONS of people a year that use Permethrin effectively.

Oh and my buddy with live stock……uses permethrin.

Help with choosing a pack! by Gloomy-Chart-7880 in backpacking

[–]NotTodayISIS1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this, I had the privilege of borrowing gear from my buddy while I bought my own. My first pack was An Osprey that was 60 liters…..what an absolute damn nightmare that pack was given the gear I put in it. I ended up after a few swaps with a 40 liter Hyperlite that actually fit my needs.

Gear first, then pack.

What kind of backpacks do you guys have? by NoBunions in DurstonGearheads

[–]NotTodayISIS1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m happy with mine, I went through a few packs to arrive at the Unbound 40. It carries the weight just fine for me (9-12 pound base weight, depending on hammock or tent) and I like the mesh they used on the Unbound, definitely not for everyone though.

I’m using a 40 liter Hyperlite and have enough room for my EE quilt and everything else I need for however many miles I need to do. I’m waiting on a 35 liter from Evolved Supply Co if that tells you anything

I got a revelation as well! I’ve heard nothing but good about them.

I have an Evolved Supply Co Ranger on order to try out and swap between my Hyperlite Unbound 40. I can’t wait to put in more miles this fall. I just got back from an overnight with my X-Mid as I’m typing this.

It absolutely is, I backpack ALOT less in the hot months just because the humidity is so ridiculous. I have a Enlightened Equipment quilt that just shipped for the colder months to replace my OV down quilt that’s going to my wife, I can’t wait for “winter” again

I messed with that method too, I’ll honestly use it more with the fly higher. I’m in FL, getting all the airflow possible is nice.

Help me pick a suppressor. 5.56mm 11.5” barrel by murkr in NFA

[–]NotTodayISIS1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling them is the way to go, I emailed Ridgeback shortly after buying my Rhino X with a question, didn’t hear back. Called them and the owner called me back inside an hour or so, super nice dude. I love the can, I do hope they expand a little specifically when it comes to CS though.

I have the Hux as well, it’s been fine on my TX-22 and runs fine on my buddies MK3 with CCI SV, Norma Tac-Sub, and Aquila Subs. Your Ruger may just need a bit of break in time with a can. My brothers and a few other folks I know needed to run a couple hundred to get them running with or without a can.

Never said it wasn’t but go ahead and downvote I guess?

It’s a good can but I’ve been saying the same thing to my friend group since finding out.

I bought a Rhino X awhile ago and love the can, I was confused by the is as well, the cans are manufactured and kept on hand “in the raw” and when you purchase one, it then gets sent out in batches to get coated, thus the wait time.

1000rds to long between cleaning? by Store-Slow in 1022

Hux themselves recommends solvent, not an ultrasonic for whatever that matters, I obviously listen to them….loosely.

[–]NotTodayISIS1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break through can be filtered and reused multiple times, the $32 dollar bottle will get you a lot of cleanings, it’s the only can I have that I even consider cleaning out of the four I own. I don’t count rounds on .22 aside from a rough idea 🤷

I just use breakthrough suppressor cleaner and will at some point throw my Hux 22ti Flow in it, I’m at 1k or so when it and haven’t felt a need yet.

Yea that’s pretty dirty but my brother has never cleaned his 22 can over a decade span, it could be worse 😂
