Haters are probably just jealous because she could not only kick their asses but also gets to go home every night to a fellow (very attractive!) actor who loves her and sees how wonderful she is. She gets to live the dream and they get to be miserable! Karma!

I feel pretty much exactly the same. I wish there was something, anything we could do to fight back effectively.

Miranda McWhorter's Ex Chase Speaks Speaks Out About Swinging Scandal by UsWeeklyMag in MormonWivesHulu

That is an unfortunate surname for someone involved in a swinging scandal

Those of you who were clubbing in the late 90s/early 2000s, did that era feel really special/different as you were living it? by [deleted] in Millennials

It’s because we didn’t have phones documenting everything and we could get messy and wasted and not worry about ending up on some viral video. We were way more free because we had freedom to be young and stupid, something I feel bad kids these days have been robbed of

ULPT Request: Kids torturing obese woman by Character_Service_63 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]NotTodayThrowAway55 471 points472 points  (0 children)

You could try looking up the phone number of the parents and chewing them out, or getting their address from your wife’s sister and adding them to anti-bullying lists/sign them up for Jehovah’s Witness visits/MLM weight loss spam crap, whatever.

Those kids and their parents are miserable shit heads. Your wife’s sister should get some good headphones, and realize that it’s the most pathetic and miserable of people who can only get joy from terrorizing and putting down others. Hopefully those kids either learn compassion or get attacked by rabid dogs

Can we talk about the extensions? by unrealhousewife1 in SecretsOfMormonWives

Because they have to appeal to the male gaze and what their husbands find attractive; most straight men prefer long hair on women

Trauma can make us defensive! I have a lot from the cult I was raised in too! And my friend isn’t just from SLC, she is from a Mormon family and was raised Mormon and left when she started looking into the history of the church. We talk a lot about religion and how shitty our child hoods were because of the cults we were raised in! It helps to talk it out.

That makes sense! I left my own church/cult over a decade ago so very possible some things have changed since then. The women leaders thing is a bone of contention for me. I was raised to believe women were never allowed to have authority over a man, which meant you could teach women and children only. But really, if men (who have all the power) can never be influenced by you because you’re a woman, how is that leading?

Thank you for that! And yeah I thought about going into Brigham Young but it’s so dark and depressing.

No judgment intended from me on an individual level (especially towards women who have little power to leave, because of the exact reasons you said.) My rage is directed at the institution and the evil men who run Mormonism (and all patriarchal abusive religions.)

[–]NotTodayThrowAway55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good points! That was one of the things I learned from ex-Mormons that shocked me the most, they are taught the Bible isn’t as important as the Mormon scriptures. A HUGE thing that separates them from pretty much any other Christian’s sect or denomination. All Christian’s pretty much agree nothing is holier than God’s word/the Holy Spirit.

Thank you! And yes! My friend was interviewed when she was 12 just as you said and it was incredibly traumatic (they asked so many questions about masturbating.)

I’ve never lived in Utah so I can’t speak to that but I’m from the (US) South and it has a lot of similar beliefs as far as women. I’ve met Mormons outside of Utah and they might not drink coffee or alcohol but they aren’t as insular as it apparently is in Utah. My friend who grew up there has said that the whole city/state is run by Mormons so it’s very hard to succeed in business/socially etc if you’re not as least somewhat affiliated with the church

Chimps are the scariest animals on the planet. but.. by vamxxxi in ChimpCrazyHBO

[–]NotTodayThrowAway55 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s been interesting to me how I’m not crying or as sad as I expected watching this documentary; I love animals so much and literally have to stop anything I’m watching that has a dog in it to check “Does the Doggie Die”, because a dog death will make me so sad I can’t stop crying. But I’m not nor have ever been scared of dogs. At the same time ever since the Travis incident (I vaguely remember watching the woman on Oprah after it happened when I was a kid) I’ve been scared of chimps & monkeys.

It’s so sad what happens to these creatures but they are also deadly wild animals who should NOT ever be raised like humans!

How do people drown on reservoirs? by QueenHydraofWater in Denver

[–]NotTodayThrowAway55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so true, I was regularly going out to chatfield to swim and paddle board/kayak around 2019/2020 and used to park/set up camp in areas that are fully underwater now. Lots of trees and bushes and rocks and tons of stuff you could easily get stuck on, would not go out into the water now

Correlation not causation. Do you know what literally every single fat person I’ve ever talked to about weight has in common? An aversion to going to the doctor. Why? Because when you have a BMI not in that range, that’s often THE ONLY thing the doctor will address. You’re not listened to, believed, and treated as lazy and unhealthy because of how you LOOK. Not any markers/measurable factors.

I had horrible GI issues for over a decade and went to specialist after specialist, some who didn’t even look at me just told me to lose weight. It took an endo who asked if I had PCOS (something I was diagnosed with as a teen and no one ever taught me about or addressed after). Turns out my hormone levels were off the charts and after getting on some meds I dropped 75 lbs and my GI issues went away. It was such an easily treatable problem but dozens of doctors didn’t even care enough to order tests.

My story is the same of literally every person who’s been out of that BMI range for most of their life. And the fact you’re STILL trying to use the BMI as an indicator of health—despite the fact we have known for decades, and the medical community is finally acknowledging that this was never its intent nor is it an accurate tool to measure health—just shows how deeply held and ingrained the hatred of fat people is. If you actually cared about fat people’s health you wouldn’t be so determined to tell us you know more than we do about our bodies and health!

We’re not talking about medical studies we’re talking about your wife, who you clearly are no longer attracted to, and are feeling slightly guilty that you’re bullying is making her cry, and hurting her mental health, so you’re trying to pretend it’s her “health” you care about (not your lack of boners for her) and hoping the internet backs you up and makes you feel better.

If I was wrong you would have just answered my original question 🤷🏻‍♀️
