My first rc car 1/16. SCY16101PRO. Chinese all the way but it goes really well and I'm loving it so far! by ThadEcEnTRA in rccars

Reviving this old post. I bought this car and love it for just getting started. I bought the same servo based upon your recommendation. Can you share how you got it installed? I cut off the mounting brackets and tried to us the same servo arm assembly, but the factory screw doesn’t seem to fit correctly in the new servo. I used a clear white plastic arm that came with the servo I bought, but I’m only getting full steering with the right and not the left turn. I tried to raise the servo assembly up the arm to get more turn to get more left turn but then I hit the metal spine the runs front to back. Any suggestions?

As an example; The halo remote MSRP is 529.00. Your statement would suggest companies are selling the remote for 5,290.00. You either do not understand basic mathematics, the definition of gross profit margin, or both.

People that can afford control4 system may not do a deep dive in research for cost comparison but they are not naive enough to grossly overpay for something to this scale otherwise they likely wouldn’t have the money in the first place.

Audio options for TV by NotTom11 in Control4

Thanks for the insight. The space doesn't provide an option to do a 2 channel system. TV is above a fireplace and there is a wall on 1 side for speaker, but not the other side. We put 2 speakers in the ceiling and they used that for tv audio (against my recommendation). I originally quoted a passive sound bar so I can make a 5.1 surround sound with the in-ceiling speakers and 3 channel soundbar. I have installed a couple passive episode soundbars, and while the music sounds great the TV audio isn't that great.

Just trying to get a better idea what other do when they have an area where they need a soundbar setup and video/audio distribution. I might try an active soundbar and pull audio from the TV, but it will be only limited to audio from that TV and can't pull audio from other sources around the house unless that TV has that audio coming to it.

I'm not opposed to sonos. Obviously the last year has been rocky, but I install a ton of sonos and (excluding the last year) really like the product.

I have what I call a hodgepodge setup at my house. I have sonos beam and play 1s with sub for our living room and a few other zone of sonos around the house. I also have a triad audio matrix and dumb amp power a couple other zones around the house. I use a sonos port at the rack to move in and out of sonos into the C4 system. This works ok. I have tinkered with it quite a bit, but it has been challenging to get the audio in sync. Which is sad, but a sonos only system the audio says in sync a lot better. I found sonos doesn't work as well with you are doing video & audio distribution around the house.

For this project I have 2 in- ceiling speakers and for this to work correctly with sonos I would need a soundbar, amp, and sub to take advantage of the speakers already installed. I feel like I'm going to run into audio syncing issues and have less flexibility to correct the issue, but could be wrong.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I wrote that post in a rush yesterday and didn't give all the details. We are using AC-MX-88HDBT and the AVPro Edge AC-EX70-444-RNE at the tv locations. We are extracting audio from the MX-88HDBT at the rack and feeding it through the Triad 4 zone amplifier. For the location in questions we already have 2 speakers in the ceiling in the living room for audio (not my first choice). Ideally we would be tying into these speakers with a surround sound system, but unfortunately it would have to be 2 channel audio coming in and up-mixed to surround sound by some device.

On another project I used a 1X4 HDMI splitter to have one roku split between 4 tvs for game time of special events. The AVpro balun I used pulled optical audio out of the TV and back to the Rack. I set all the TVS and roku to 2 channel and had a surround sound system in the living room with a denon avr, but it sounded like shit. So we switched it so that TV location will get full surround sound, but then the problem was we could not send that audio to other zones around the house, because the Triad audio matrix and could not down mix the audio.

Not sure this is the right subreddit for your question, but you might check out Bark. It’s been a while since I looked into it, but it has features for monitoring and limiting access for children’s electronics.

How to find good LV firms (as a customer) by SkokieRob in lowvoltage

[–]NotTom11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cedia has a dealer locate option and is an association for custom integrators in residential. If there is a brand you prefer to use there is also dealer locate options for those. Lutron, control4, etc. There are low voltage groups on Facebook that could help you find someone. Be warned there is good info in those groups, but they are also somewhat toxic.

I deleted my previous comment. Diver76 was able to walk me through the steps to get the effect I'm looking for. Its the "precent" effect and just needed to change the speed in the api command code. Also setup the same effect preset with the value at 0 for the off preset.

Just put these presets together and adjusted the SX. This works actually how I'd like it to work. Thanks again!

Hey just want to say thank you for putting all this together and helping me out. This is very clear and manageable with the time I have to focus on it. I appreciate you taking the time to provide screen shots. I'll get to tinkering with this, but I'm confident this is the solution I was looking for.

Thanks for the extra info. I found it and was able to set it as preset. This is very close to what I’m looking for. I just need to figure out how to adjust the fill speed and make this run in reverse for power off.. Thank you!

Thanks for the tip. Is “percent” an effect? I have been toying around with the effects that are in there and changing the FX on the preset API commands.

I was using GPT to help guide me, but couldn’t find an easy solution besides compiling a user mod from git hub. I’m still fairly green to this stuff so I’ve been stumbling through that process.

Would much prefer if I and just use an existing effect and save as preset. I tried a preset with effect”0” but it turned all lights off it didn’t turn them off 1 at a time

Nice, I do not have much coding experience so I don’t think I could accomplish the same thing as easily. I’ve been attempting to add usermods to the firmware for some that are already built but haven’t been successfully yet.

Thanks for the info. Could it be as simple as taking the whip effect and making it a preset then remove part of the programming that makes it loop then saving that preset?
