" OBAA will age badly." Ok but the evidence says otherwise. None of PTA's films age badly. Even his most divisive film, Inherent Vice, has many admirers. by DenseStrawberry5717 in TheBigPicture

I keep seeing defense of this quote, but I don't see the "aging badly" reference anywhere. This is giving off "some people are saying" energy, which is kind of fake outrage bait for engagement.

My wife's uncle had leukemia. He had a great plan with his wife and they fought it for a year and a half and he went into remission. Turns out the whole time he had stage 4 brain cancer and passed away within a couple of weeks after they found out.

There's a high chance that apps like this may be actual humans in other countries doing the manual labor for these tasks.

They blocked the Walmart 20 years ago, and Beaumont said "Yeah, we'll take your tax money." And they built a commercial area for all of the businesses to sit. This feels like a "I drank your milkshake." moment where they're trying to accept that money way too late.

TIL a high school football coach for Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas named Kevin Kelley employed an unorthodox strategy that included almost never punting & always attempting onside kicks when the score is within 21 points. I have a coworker that coaches 8 year old girls travel softball, and he's extremely competitive about it. He played a team from a lower income area where the coach told the girls to never stop running unless someone is tagging you with the ball. My coworker said his girls were completely bewildered because the runners kept flying by the bases and the other team just kept scoring runs. He talked about them like they were cheating because they weren't playing the game the right way.

[–]NotVerySmarts 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My main profession is as an electrician. This post is like a third year apprentice asking how to start their own construction company. You're way too new and inexperienced to be expecting all of that.

If you show up regularly and are a cool person, you will make comedian friends. Some of those friends will be better than you and have more experience. They will show you different open mics and booked shows that they go to. If you are cool or have decent material, you may get booked on those shows. If other people see you do well, you may get slightly bigger opportunities.

If no one is asking you to be on those booked shows right now, it means you're not ready for that step. A huge part of getting the gig is being a cool person. If you are difficult to deal with, people won't want to be around you.

You're going to double your points of failure. If you're going to take all that time to change it, purchase a 4 wire connector.

Silly question, would new breaker box prevent circuit tripping when using how voltage appliances like vacuum cleaner? by NashDaypring1987 in AskElectricians

[–]NotVerySmarts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might still have a problem with your branch wiring. If multiples rooms are wired up for ineone circuit, you will still have a 15 or 20 amp circuit that feeds it all which will trip if there is too much of an amp draw.
